Once again the Senators early season struggles will end up being their demise.

Since the turn of the new year I believe they have a top-5 record in the league.
A big part of that being injuries. With Norris the full year and not missing long stretches of other key players they'd definitely be in a wildcard spot now.

I think it'll come right down to the end with Sens, Sabres and Isles.

They've got a very difficult schedule, especially down the stretch. These are their last 16 games:

Carolina x2
Toronto x2
Tampa x2
Boston
New Jersey
Colorado
Edmonton
Pittsburgh
Florida x2
Buffalo
Columbus
Philadelphia

8 of 16 those games are against the top 5 teams in the east. Only 5 games against non-playoff teams, and 3 of those are against Florida and Buffalo.

They need to make hay while they can.
Some of those games are very late season ones against teams already secure in the playoffs. I'm not sure the lightning or the hurricanes are going to be pushing things with their starters with only 2-3 games left in the season.

I'm a little more concerned with the Flames, Panthers, and Kraken who are both still fighting around the playoffs.

I doubt that, the Bruins barely broke a sweat against the Sens this year. In the playoffs the Bruins would be as motivated as the Sens and would make very quick work of them.

That's more telling of Boston if you're suggesting they let Ottawa beat them a couple times without even caring to show up. Not a good attitude if that's what you suggest.

I guess u don't watch your own teams games. Sens beat Bruins twice already this year and lost once.

Of course it will be a battle to get there but if they somehow manage to get there, the Sens for whatever reason match up well against the Bruins.

Ottawa is 2-1 vs Boston this year...

And the one game Ullmark played Boston won. Like I said earlier the Bruins don't get up for teams like Ottawa, every team is playing Boston like it's game 7 of the SCF. In the playoffs motivation is equal on both sides, Boston will absolutely steamroller Ottawa, only the diehard Sens fans will think they have a chance.

Dream on.

Lol, Boston only won that one game because the sens let them. You can't seriously think Boston could actually beat the sens if they sens were trying!?

Keep dreaming bud.

Sens were outshooting them 23-3 at one point during the 2nd period.

That's pretty impressive against any team.
It was starting to remind me of the time the New Jersey Devils outshot the Toronto Maple Leafs 27-6 to close out their 2nd-round playoff series back in 2000.

The Rangers are in a bad form and they literally started the game with less players on the ice. Two top 4 D gone.

Using Mikkola and Harpur in the top 4... wow!

While the game obviously isn't indicative of the Rangers actual strength, neither is the Sens roster. They're still missing their 1A/1B situation center in Josh Norris.

Ottawa is 2-1 vs Boston this year...

And their loss was a close game on a b2b when they were clearly tired.
