I absolutely love that album for many reasons.
1) It's just a fantastic collection of witty, smart, funny songs.
2) The production is all cheap amps, trashy guitars, weird drum machines, etc. Smokey amps and Danelectro masonite guitars.
3) It's like the Jesus and Mary Chain were writing Brill Building pop songs.
4) The secret to a great guitar sound is always distortion > tremolo > reverb.
5) FEEDBACK!
Also, this is gonna be in my head all morning:
Yeah and Roxy Music is old enough to not get off their asses for anything lessMy brother convinced me to get tix to Roxy Music’s 50th anniversary tour, coming in Sept to SF….cheap tix were $160 each…wtf…I’m old enough to remember spending $12.50 to see my favorite bands lol
Let's Beefheart this bitdch up.This is my most listened to Brian Eno album. Can't really explain why.
(I'm just posting so all these pointless "hockey team roster" threads can get pushed back down.)

"How much do you need to retire, Bryan?"I’m funding Bryan Ferry’s retirement 401k…
Do you know how much a good bespoke suit costs these days? Bryan Ferry does."How much do you need to retire, Bryan?"
"More Than This."

Not to mention how much a tailored Secret Jungle Research Facility officer's uniform goes for. With attendant eye patch:
Disco gets a bad rap, IMO. But how much cooler would it have been if Suicide became the blueprint for disco instead of the Bee Gees?it’s amazing how the ‘70s disco moment caught every band in its trap lol…
Yeah, but they you also run the risk of being one of the rubes who can "hear" the differences between speaker cables and needs like $15K worth of home audio stuff and room treatment before you can listen to an album.I feel like I should think about becoming one of those "really into vinyl" dudes just because it would be a good fallback option when the wife asks what I want for my birthday. Being someone who's still really into the classics helps since back then "The Album" as a whole was so much more important.

Vinyl is great. I love the format. It's fun to collect and hunt for rare records.
