I just thought it was hilarious that a London-Irish dude who wrote "God Save the Queen" and was so vocal in his memoirs about hating her (supposedly) just ended up being another Tory in the end. At least Shane MacGowan is still staying true to his ethos, which is "wine time".

Interestingly enough, my Geordie Faulkland war vet colleague is still firmly in the "f*** da Qween" camp and is sticking to his proverbial guns.

Saw them last year in Bethlehem. He was struggling and forgetting words which was sad to see. Caught the Pittsburgh show a couple months ago and it was one of the best live shows I've ever been to.
