In b4 he has a drinking problem and isn't focused on hockey.
Too late on that one I'm afraid.

In my experience heavy drinking and focus on hockey are actually positively correlated.
Wrong. I'm not sure why you keep saying this. A quick trip to other boards you can see how many people prefer Kakko over Hughes. To Rangers fans yes. To everyone else he's a #2.
The old Mike Richter approach, lol
Kakko and Hughes will probably be the best players of the draft but I don’t disagree that Turcotte will be very good as well
I give PB credit though, he’s stuck to this take for a while

Thats his issue though.
He makes a knee jerk evaluation and then sticks to it no matter what happens afterwards. Anyone who disagrees with him is either 100% wrong or a shill for the Ranger organization.
or disappears completely
And don't forget he also blocks anyone who disagrees with him.Thats his issue though.

While I agree that he has nothing left to prove, I can’t help but feel that fans and teams look at the combine very differently. Fans want to see the measurements and fitness testing results and I feel like teams want to get to know these kids through interviews and get into their medical records. That said, I’m 100% sure the Rangers (and whatever other team) will be able to have a good chat with Kakko before the draft
I heard that too, but I can’t remember exactly where I heard it fromOn the midday NHL Network show yesterday, Burke mentioned that teams primarily use fitness testing to evaluate what kind of injuries a prospect could be prone to in the future.
I think he just tried to do too much instead of slowing down and simplifying his game. He's playing in a different game going up against Adults and Pros. He seemed like he was still trying to play against kids. Watching highlights of his shifts show the skill is there, he just needs to adapt it to a Pro game.Kakko has played this season first in the Finnish Liiga for TPS, then U20 (gold medal) and after that world Championships (also a gold medal). The kid must be tired after everything and deserves a rest.
I must say that I'm surprised about the fact that Hughes is still the #1 consensus pick.
Watching him at the men's world Championships, for me at least, he didn't quite deliver. I've seen him play before and he was amazing in the Juniors, with his ability to find players and just his speed.
In the Men's though... He fell down and tripped over his skates more than I've ever seen anyone fall in a professional game.
Best player in the draft. Yeah, I know...What's his take about Turcotte?
