He’ll also have an elite medical staff at his disposal to deal with it if/when necessary.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they hired a doctor/dietitian for just him. He could very well be the face of this franchise for the next decade, I wouldn't surprise me to see the Rangers do that with their unlimited money.

I volunteer!

I don't think that was about his diet. The interviewer asked him about whether the doctors gave him any restrictions on the ice, and he answered none at all. If he has coeliac disease and diabetes, he sure as hell better watch what he eats.

Lack of restrictions he mentioned were based on athletic performance.

You better believe that he has dietary restrictions.

You're right, my fault!! Took that in a different route, lolol.

Why wouldn't I have seen him play? I much rather watch most given U20 and U18 tournaments there is than WHC (unless there's someone like Kakko or Laine in the Finnish team). I've seen numerous of games by Hughes on the international level, mostly against kids obviously. Do I watch USHL? Not anymore than you watch FEL.

People here like to assume things, that much is granted. Yeah I'm aware that he played against elders during the season but saying he played vs men, like seriously? Maybe you mean't to say he played vs amateur hockey players? Seems like we have a little bit different standards for what comes down to actually playing versus men. At least for me it normally has the word "professional" tagged along in the context. Otherwise he wouldn't have seen so much ice surface in the Worlds', or how else would you explain how a 1,6 ppg player (against men) almost falls out of the map when playing against grown ups in the World Championships?

I don't even have anything against Hughes. Actually he does seem like pretty talented prospect and if he had more weight/height I might even view him on the same level as KK. Promising and extremely gifted (like someone you can hardly find any faults from) are two different things however, and I'm not at all certain if he has what it's expected after seeing him just some week ago. Kakko was on a different stratosphere and by the time Hughes reaches the level Kakko is now, who knows how good the latter will already be.

Once again, this is simply hilariously biased. Your entire posting history shows a level of bias towards Finnish players that is clearly on display here once again.

Your complete inability to give Hughes credit (and even knocking him clearly due to his nationality not being Finnish) while pumping up Kakko is just ludicrous, frankly.

Why bother? Here on HF you will find all the doctors you need. Thye will diagnose it all for free. Just like with Karlsson :)

Erm no? This entire time I've been pretty solely talking about their respective performances in the WHC and I based my assessments regarding the two on what I just saw. It has absolutely nothing to do with my own nationality. Does it feel good knowing Kakko is better? Yes. Did I take it for granted? No. Now just imagine for a second if the entire tournament went the other way and Hughes displayed such superiority against Kakko, there wouldn't be a person in the planet who would even claim they'd be close, not even the Finns. However it was Kakko who was on another level and people are still talking about him closing the gap and the two of them being close if what not.

Heck I don't have to exaggerate even the slightest bit here, Kakko was simply so much better. He also seemed better at the WJC in my opinion, but then again apparently that doesn't count since Hughes was "injured".

Now I've said it before, I have nothing against Hughes. I don't hold him as high regard as I do Kakko due to what we just witnessed and that is all. This doesn't mean Hughes cannot prosper in the NHL, quite the contrary, I'm certain he will have a noteworthy career. Nonetheless at the end of the day you are (most likely) getting the better player. Just chill and be happy.

The Rangers interview with Hughes.

Does anyone recognize the other players?

Gorton is standing at the side.

JD is sitting in the back.

I mean, it's abundantly clear from your posting history that you will always rate a Finnish player higher than a North American counterpart. If anyone searches through your posts, it's as clear as day. This is an absurdly biased take and speaks volumes to the fact that you really have minimal experience watching Hughes (frankly, this post confirms it even further).

Stop denigrating Hughes to prop Kakko up. They are both superb prospects. It's absurd to see someone do this.

So when we get Kakko, are we going to experience the "Zucarrelo effect" and have to deal with that forever? I f***ing hope not...

Well if you consider watching most of his international U18 and U20 games minimal then by all means fine.

Now as for "hyping" Finnish prospects, I give credit where credit is due and this means the not-so-fortunate feedback as well. According to folks here I hate Heponiemi for instance, possibly even Kapanen and who knows who else. I've been high on Kakko from the get go, far sooner than most had him even top 2. Now whether you think that's because he's my country mate is entirely up to you (and fully irrelevant) or because he's more than earned every bit of that respect. Last year as a 16-17 year old he played vs men too according to some standards mentioned here in the ASM (U20) and absolutely ridiculed any competition he had there.

Still, I can't help but feel taken whenever someone goes as far as bothering to dig up by post history. Wish I had the same enthusiasm to care what other people think/say. Nevermind if I was so deep into this Kakko hype train, I wouldn't be here but the prospect/main boards but the fact of the matter is I don't really care about that flame fest, so why bother.

Actually, all I had to do was a 10 second search of your post history to read about the stuff with Matthews and Laine.

It read similar to the old "Prucha is better than Crosby" line on here from back in the day. If you want to feel important that I spent all of 10 seconds looking through your post history, that's your prerogative. But it showed an implicit bias for Finnish players. Again, I am simply not sure why you're going through the effort of denigrating Hughes for the sake of propping Kakko up. Rangers fans are not doing that, by and large, even though we realize that we are likely getting Kakko. Devils fans are not doing that, by and large, even though most of them want Hughes.

So why are you doing it? What are you gaining from essentially denigrating a player to prop another up? I don't understand this nationalistic standpoint at all.
