I love Finnish hockey and all, but these golden helmets look so cheesy!
And what's with the referees' stripes on acid?

Edit: Omg I tried the link to iltahelti (sp?) thinking it would be a video to the skills comp. Boy did I back out fast! :D

Maybe first hattrick tonight? Two goals already after two periods. MG has turned into a sniper. :handclap:

Gritty, elite playmaker who can snipe it. Despite he is small, hes tough and plays a tough game and gives huge hits. No doubt he is future superstar... in the AHL :sarcasm:

Well.. they are saying that he elbowed someone in the head and then - getting away with it without penalty - scored the goal. Perhaps he'll become an agitator?

He's just followed closely Crosby's return to action and decided he could also start scoring some goals and being a general PITA to play against :naughty:

I heard he once prevented a goal too.

Maybe playing a little goalie/defense is in his NHL future?

Thanks, the whole not speaking Finnish thing makes it tough to nagivate finlands websites. Although I get around sm-liiga.fi fairly well with google translate.

I wonder what would a realistic point expectations for him next season in NHL. I'm guessing something like 15+30=45.

Seems resonable. I could see the assists being a little higher, maybe 15+40 = 55, but somewhere between 40 and 55 points its probably right. He will definatly get the oppurtunity at ES and PP.

Depends alot how his team plays, i think he does about 60 points in his rookie season, about 20+40ish. You have to remember that he is no Mikko Koivu that plays like the 3rd defender at times, he is pure offensive player though he helps the team also in own zone but not like Koivu.

You have to remember Granlund is quite a developed player for a rookie after playing three seasons in a professional league. Therefore I can see him putting up Kane or RNH-like numbers. If he stays healthy and plays a full season I'd estimate his production to be about 20+50 = 70. This sounds high and I wouldn't be disappointed if he ends up with 60 points or so. I just can't see him getting much less than that as he will get top 6 minutes and quality powerplay time.

If he scores less than 60 pts i'm disappointed, 60pts is ok but 70pts is reachable. He gets 40pts alone at PP where he is superb. Not suprised if he hits +70pts. I know those numbers looks scary high but last spring he was much better than Mikko Koivu at offense. Now he is far ahead Mikko Koivu offensively. Granlund is now much better player than in WC last spring. He has still developed with huge leaps.

Oh I see, it starts again...

Some of you should really tune down your expectations.
