If Buffalo pries Eriksson EK out of Minnesota, we would have potentially the nastiest center spine in the NHL but hes got a NMC and NTC while signed for 5 more years at a sweetheart rate. I can't see Minnesota parting with him unless we are willing to give up Savoie + + and even then he has to want to come here.

Also Pete Guelli is the COO of the Sabres and Bills.. why does he have any impact on the building of the actual hockey team?

This poster has some pretty damn good kool-aid tho
1. Completely agree he wouldn't want to come here and it's unlikely. But I'd be willing to give up A LOT to get him.

2. Because he's probably telling Terry if this team doesn't start f***ing winning he's gonna be in the hole for a lot of money when he's forced to renovate the arena while nobody is buying tickets. Need to soften the blow.

I would also love to get Danault but definitely on his list as well coming from LA. Only 3 years left on his contract expiring at 34. Not terrible at all if we get some of our next batch of contracts to bridge.

But sadly these no movement clauses are killers for us.

I don't think the NMC is the killer, I don't think they're teams would be looking to move those guys anyways. Jackets are keeping Jenner. Kings are keeping Danault. Wild are keeping Eriksson Ek. There's no incentive for those teams to even entertain trades for those guys.

Don't disagree but always fun to entertain hypotheticals.

Waddell could do something crazy.

The Kings, arguably, have reason to move on from Danault. They f***ed their cap with that horrible PLD contract. Unless they can convince somebody to take that, they have a potential cap problem and no goalie. They can probably figure it out without trading Danault, but there's a sliver of hope.

The other two make absolutely no sense.

Will fix everything
I highly doubt Danualt, JEE, or Jenner are realistic, though, I will say Wadell said his first order of business was to clear up the cap, but looking at the roster makeup, that is likely moving out some d-men, not Jenner

I'd say JEE is definitely the most outlandish.

With 1 new GM in Columbus and potentially another in LA depending on Blake's extension, we could see a potential shocker. I doubt it, but who knows.

The hire of Ruff was significant but the real notice of intent was the hiring of Pete Guelli. Ruff had some leverage but Guelli is a rising star and doesn’t sign on without some significant guarantees.
Peter "Rising Star" Guelli is about to turn 60 and he's got like 20+ years in the business.

I have to admit I see that name the first time, has this even been discussed here? What they tell about him sounds good, but it's not like he turned the giants around?
He has nothing to do with the talent or performance of the team. He's just a guy that oversees business ventures like TV deals, staff contracts, events, branding, sponsorships etc..

It's more Pegula wanting a veteran of the business after the Bills stadium debacle. I'm not sure why he's being mentioned in Sabres trade rumors lmao. Completely random.

Jenner actually has a really good contract.

Merzlikins or Laine are probably the ones to be sent packing.

Buffalo is much easier if you want relatives/friends to visit over long weekends.
Dahlin and Ek are friends, I think Dahlin said something like "he's the toughest player to be up against in the league" but I might be misremembering.
Would be a wild trade though.

Ek's NMC doesn't go into effect for another three weeks, he doesn't have any trade protection right now, so don't ask him about it.

I just have a hard time imagining the Wild wanting to part with their best center, who they love dearly, and their center depth has been a big issue for the last few years. I think it would be even easier to get Tkachuk than Ek.

Overall, all three guys on this list aren't the most accessible guys, maybe this is just an example players. I just hope it's a guy who's more like these three than someone like Laughton.

All of our non-NHL prospects should be on the table. I'd do Savoie + for JEE without thinking.

For the reasons you already listed it's a complete pipe dream though. So is Boone Jenner.

Thinking about this….. why would Adams talk to the Blackhawks?

Idea: trade Skinner and an asset to Chicago so they can buy him out.

Chicago has $34M in cap space and will need contracts. They are collecting draft picks and prospects around Bedard. The bigger years of Skinner’s buyout are during Bedard’s ELC.

Skinner might waive his NMC if he knew he was being bought out and would be a free agent.

Or he could play in Chicago for a few years. It's not like they have a ton of wingers. I saw some of their fans signing Guentzel to Skinner's contract. And here it's only a three-year deal, and they won't be competing for a few years anyway.

That’s possible but I doubt Skinner waives for Chicago.

Maybe I don't know what he has in mind. Is it so bad to live in Chicago? Or does he have to live near Canada or in Canada to be near his relatives. We'll just have to pay more then for Chicago to not only take over his contract but also buyout him.

Maybe was asking him about Colin Blackwell since he's shopping for a 4C, getting some background before making an offer in UFA?

I don't see the Skinner thing atoll.
