Owen Power is one of the most underrated players in the league, largely because his own fanbase underrates him
It is flat out incredible isn’t it?

If it wasn’t my team I’d say that some fans deserve to see what happens if they trade Power away like they want to. They have no idea what he does out there and want worse players who hit sometimes instead. Took forever to get rid of Ristolainen…now they want him back at any cost. Pucks never coming out, guys. You’ll get plenty of precious hit stats!

Well, you’ve mischaracterized my point completely. He does good things, but defending is not one of them.

I would like to see them hold onto Power and look to add a quality PK defensive defenseman who can handle a slot higher in case of injury - a 4 who could slide up to a 3 or a very good 5 (like Zadorov before this season say). Not sure about taking on someone like Jones though, seems like a lateral move with a possible chance of backsliding quickly.

but defending is not one of them.
For now, and he's still learning.

Get him with a good defensive partner. This damn team has been a mess for the last few years. First it happened with Risto, and it doesn't matter that he lacks hockey IQ, but they threw him in to play on the first pair, which he couldn't do. Then those idiots screwed up Dahlin's development when they couldn't find him a good defensive partner over the years. Now it's happening with Power, I've been screaming several years now, give Owen Power a good partner that he can also learn from.

Don't worry...KA acquired Byram to show them the way...

Saw this on one of Sabres forum. I don't know why, but I trust this more than HockeyBuzz or that guy in Philly video.

FWIW, and I know at least one poster doesn’t think it’s worth much, but after a few conversations over the weekend, I am 100% convinced that the Sabres will make a big splash in the coming weeks. Something along the likes of Danault, Jenner. Eriksson EK. And it won’t stop there.

The hire of Ruff was significant but the real notice of intent was the hiring of Pete Guelli. Ruff had some leverage but Guelli is a rising star and doesn’t sign on without some significant guarantees.

TPegs was not in Buffalo to discuss draft prospects. He was here to agree to the monetary ramifications of the pending moves.

Ivr bern saying ffg or some tkmr th rrg y could do major trades

They did one sd already in Mitts-byram

The cou ln d trade Jokiharju, Krebs, Peterka, 12OA, some other prospects

I think Quinn is better than Peterka. Peterja bring moved has to do with a deal close to cap neutrality next year.

I is stupid to trade 11OA outright in a trade. Use it in s trsde like trading 12 for a terens first sure.
Chicago already moved up in the first round once. They are probably eyeing our 11th overall.

My interest:

Jason Dickinson
Connor Murphy

We send them Jokiharju back and they get 11 with a swap of picks.

Retention would be nice, but not required.

(Chicago using 1 retained salary)

Murphy is toast
Dickinson is not someone you trade yop assets for
Our top players need to be better and we need to get better players.

But I also wonder: why do we need another top 6 forward? (Highly rumored)

Skinner can't be on the 3rd line. So we have
Skinner - Thompson - Tuch
Peterka - Cozens - Quinn

Lance mentioned Quinn getting moved to the third line. Or do they want to move Tuch to the third line? I just don't buy it.

I just keep going back to that they are getting rid of Skinner. :crossfing

They dont need as top 6F given th err it development role unless you brings something significant like dice. When you factor in a vets high salary it's not worth it long term

xxx-tage-Quinn
Benson-Cozens-xxx
Peterka-xxx-Tuch

Savoie, Kulich, Rosen
Ktebs
Greenway
Ostlund

I’m fine with Chicago adding. I’ll admit I didn’t look at Jones’ contract. I honestly assumed he was signed cheaper. But Seth Jones is way way better than Owen power right now.

Jones contract was bad before the ink dried. Power still h as s time to get better

Jonrs is an awaiting anchor
If you go by the Buffalo news, Laughton is far and away the most likely. Who knows how reality-based they are.
There was alot of rumors around him last sesson.

Some of this I didn't quite understand.

They could use a one-year rent with a top 6 forward (Buchnevich, Konecny, Ehlers) until Kulich and Savoie are ready (if they think so). And then replace that player with Kulich or Savoie in a year. Of course, if it didn't cost too much.

I hate how the media keeps linking us with Necas, I think if/when Adams makes a move for a center its going to be a solid hockey trade for someone none of us thought was available and the pieces going the other way will probably hurt.
No thx

I'm against both those deals?

Unless something significant is coming back with Cirelli.
Cirelli is the significant plus.

and wait....youre against trading Power for anything more than a klondike bar and used napkin? Since when lol?
