It'll be interesting since all summer Ducks fans have insisted over and over and over they are a budget team and won't be spending to the cap.

Also not one of these RFA defenseman that I see people comparing Lindholm to have the playoff experience or quality of play Lindholm has shown in the playoffs.

I know the Canucks cannot fit the cap but hows this for the value?

Derek Dorsett, Brock Boeser, Olli Juolevi
for
Rickard Rakell, Hampus Lindholm

Anaheim gets a veteran forward plus huge savings with two players on ELC in exchange for their expensive RFAs. Kind of the mystery box approach but if the budget is that tight might not be a bad move.

Canucks bridge the age gap with a 23 and 22 year old in return for their top 2 prospects, both help expedite the rebuild on the fly.

You're acting like derek dorsett has VALUE

Can they match an offer sheet if they do not have the cap room? I guess they would have seven days to make the cap room since they have that much time to match the offer.

The team offer sheeting him also has to have the cap room and draft picks to do so. With where we are at in the season, it's highly unlikely a team is willing to do so. Lindholm has also said he doesn't want to play anywhere else, so he'd also have to sign the offer sheet, which is unlikely since there isn't a huge difference between what he's being offered and wants at this point.

He's day to day, nothing major.

We all wondered how in the heck pittsburgh traded him for lovejoy at the time, I'm starting to wonder if the pens withheld medical info on despres... At the time it didn't make sense to anyone, and it's been making a lot of sense, ever since we got him , he was very injury prone.

If Murray still sees concussion symptoms , he might just put despres on LTIR, I mean that would also clear space( and i'm not wishing that to be the case, you don't want that for anyone ) just being realistic.

If he does get traded, where would he go? The only teams that have caproom for him are the Hurricanes (16M), Panthers (9.783M), Preds (5.7M), Devils (7.3M), Sens (6M) and Jets (9.8M).

Anaheim only has 300k in capspace aswell..

His injury problems are a huge concern to teams if you are trying to trade him now.

Stoner, Despres are pretty damm difficult to trade today.
It's Vats or Fowler and Vats got just signed.

I'd guess Florida doesn't want to add more longterm cap today, they need that space for next year when Ekblads, Smiths and Huberdeaus new contracts kick in.

It's difficult that teams can't send any cap back to Anaheim.

Imagine if the Hurricanes offersheeted Lindholm...with the amount of cap space they got, they could totally screw over the Ducks.

They are also slowly getting better and building lindholm is young

It would have to be one hell of an overture from Ron Francis, and then he would have to sign it. I believe the clock is ticking, because it's not Lindholm's fault that Bob Murray apparently doesn't have a capologist. Lindholm is losing money now because Anaheim can't clear enough space to offer him what he's worth in today's market. It's pretty sad. Have to think that Lindholm's agent has his boot to the throat of Bob Murray, telling him to clear space or trade Lindholm.

How does he have a "boot to the throat" when his only recourse is writing him a strongly worded text?

I didn't realize the hurricanes were in the market for defence. I was under the impression they needed top 4 winger help and that they had lots of defensive depth.

Offer sheet. Lindholm can't be held in limbo forever. He wants to play in Anaheim, so ship out some contracts and sign him. This is all on Murray. Lindholm hasn't been the unreasonable one here.

Leafs have over 8M in potential cap space due to IR/LTIR.

So awesome that's you've been in the room throughout the negotiations so that you can tell us who is being unreasonable.

So you mean that Bob Murray had the cap space to sign Lindholm to a long term contract worth market value? This entire time? Wow.

They had the space all summer, and can free up room by moving a contract. You seem to think the sticking point has been the Ducks not having room to pay Lindholm, but that space has and can be there. They still obviously haven't come to an agreement on what's he's worth.

Well, he's certainly worth more than 300k now, isn't he?
