Is the GM taking heat for mismanaging his cap so badly? It's like he didn't even have a plan when handing out his recent contracts.

I believe Dave Nonis was hired by the team as a special advisor - I wouldn't be surprised if he was behind their cap mismanagement to some degree

Its so easy for both teams

Trouba doesn't want to play in Winnipeg, its not about the money
Lindholm is about a big long term contract

So trouba signs a cheap 2 year bridge and some cheap rfa like dano,burmistrov,etc...

Jets get lindholm long term for 7 years 44 million and take stoner back

Yes. Its so easy for a Jets fan to propose something that absolutely fleeces another team.

And you can keep dreaming then, Lindholm before all is said and done. Will probably command close to $6 million per long term and Trouba around $5.5 million per long term and it would take far more then just Trouba to get Lindholm out of Anaheim who else is Winnipeg going to add.

Chevy would be willing to package futures I'm sure. Weather Murray bites on them is an entirely different thing. Then of course you have the rumours swirling around where Trouba will actually sign. That kind of move is tough but not out of the realm of possibility.

So Anaheim gives up possibly 8 years of Lindholm, For maybe less then 4 years of Trouba not sure how this would be a win win for Anaheim here they're definitely downgrading here. And besides it sounds like Trouba doesn't want to play that far west.

Just like we would possibly give them eight years of Trouba for maybe less than four years of Lindholm. If you base your arguments one the best case scenario for one side and the worst one for the other, it's a bad argument.

And as you seem to be so sure about everything Trouba related, care to back up your claim, which I bolded?

I hope Anaheim can find a way to sign Lindholm without having to sacrifice anyone decent. Maybe they can shuffle some bodies and lose a Stoner or Despres to come up with the cash. They'll have a strong team if they can keep the key pieces.

It will be mighty hard to get rid of Stoner. With the cap the way it is, any deal of 3.25 mil is extremely tough to trade. Especially for a guy like Stoner.

I think best outcome is Stoner with Ritchie to get someone to bite on taking him at full value. Maybe Carolina does it. Theres almost no teams out there any more who have a ton in cap space and desire to even make those deals. They have to open up ~6 mil in cap space. Fowler for picks opens up 4. Cgs, Silverberg, stoner for picks would make up other needed room

Gaa things are ugly for Anahiem. I dont even cheer for them and I already feel bad for what they are going to have to do

NOW you send the offersheet.

I hope some one does it soon we've been waiting all year... there is also the possibility teams have sent offersheets and lindholm hasn't signed... usually you only hear boUT em if they are signed

NOW you send the offersheet.

Was it already signed by Lindholm? Just waiting to send it? Theres only 5 teams with enough space for it to make sense. Some of those teams have some major contracts kicking in the next few years and some solid young guys coming up into their own RFA status. It's really not easy to make offer sheets a reality without screwing your own team in the process. Hasn't only one offer sheet ever gone through? Penner?

I think what he means is getting trouba doesn't solve our issues... what's to stop a team from offer sheeting trouba we still don't have the money to sign a rfa right now.... so trading lindholm for trouba really doesn't solve anything

Fowler-Despres was a pretty good pairing, and for 7.75 total AAV. I'd imagine there must be a few teams that would buy a whole pairing. Dallas? Jersey?

I thought of that idea too literally you are getting a top 4 pairing that has been used as the #1 pairing for 7.5 is pretty good but despres has been kinda injury prone so idk how much value he has now

I still think we move stoner even after that... Theodore is nhl ready.

Lindholm manson larsson Vatanen Theodore bieska , maybe a little on the soft side but that's okay

The Jets. Their biggest need also happens to be a top pairing LD

Why would he want to sign there? According to multiple Jets fans, they don't want Cam Fowler because there's no way he would re-sign there. If that's true, you can count on Lindholm feeling the same way, with respect to an offer sheet.

Colin White + Cody Ceci for Lindholm?

Lindholm isn't for sale. Why does everyone keep believing he is? BM said he'd match any offer sheet on Lindholm. Lindholm said he doesn't want to play anywhere else. There's mutual interest and no interest in doing anything else, so don't know why people keep believing the notion he'll be moved.

Can they match an offer sheet if they do not have the cap room? I guess they would have seven days to make the cap room since they have that much time to match the offer.

Really? You think White and Ceci is that far off from Lindholm? I agree we'd need to add another piece but that isn't that far off. Maybe a conditional 1st rounder if Ottawa make 2nd round of playoffs.

No need for Ceci we have defense... white isn't super appealing if Lindholm is involved. And your 1st is meh if you guys have Karlsson and lindholm on your back end.
