Literally no one is going to do that. I sense some insecurity about other players, but LA’s point totals this year (which was his D+2 year) compared to 60 points for someone who just got drafted is a huge leap. Anything over 50 points for a player who just got drafted, and who can also play a 2-way game, is crazy good. I expect at least 35 points, and at most 50.
Lol dude this is the highest draft pick this franchise has had since Brad Park, people are going to be arguing about how he takes his f***in coffee. Best case scenario is it doesn't start until after the actual draft. I've already seen a dozen or so silly concerns just in the last 9 hours; hopefully it's just the nervous energy leftover from the lottery.

I will say this though: if the kid even thinks about playing Fortnite, Quinn better throw his computer out the goddamn window.

Don’t know if you guys noticed, but apparently Hughes and Kakko are now just ordinary scrubs in a “bad” draft year.

Enjoy the salt from all the other fan bases. It really is delicious.

Cheers to the rivalry renewed.
Also mutual amusement at screwing over the Kings.

The type of player the Rangers in the past had to spend big money on to acquire via free agency or several assets to get in a trade. Huge difference when the cost is one draft pick.
You left out the part about How the big time free agent/trade almost certainly had his best years already behind him. I'm thinking about Rangers hockey and smiling. This is a big day.

Kings won 2 cups this decade and have a top-5 pick. Can't really feel bad for them

I thought the Flyers board meltdown was something, but the Kings took the cake.

People should relax about “going off the board”. Yes they have done that before, they never also were in a position where there is only one player picked ahead of them for them to go off the board. It’s going to be Kakko. If not, it means we got Jack Hughes. If we landed the 3rd pick? Everyone here would at least have a valid argument about worrying who we pick. I still can’t sleep, what an amazing night!

Rangers don't go off the board. They select BPA. Just because media rankings are different to theirs doesn't mean it's off the board pick.

2003?2010? People are always terrified the Rangers will reach. There's no reason this year for people to be that way.

I don't think looking back 9 & 16 years is a good barometer for Rangers drafting styles. Especially considering how much turnover has taken place since then.
You don't gotta tell me. Some people wont let it go. Especially since they know Clarke was here in 2010. Like I said elsewhere there's a difference between 2nd and 10th. Especially when there's a clear cut top 2 then everything else.

What a great morning/day/week/month/ off season/next season/next 10 plus years it is to be a ranger fan! Finally this organization catches a break! Finally!!! Trying not to place all my hopes on this one player but this just set us all up for a potentially amazing run of hockey! Could not be any more pleased with this!

Thanks Hockey Gods!!!

Avs fans also threw a **** fit, which is funny considering that pick was bascially a gift.
Some Avs fan on twitter was complaining about drafting ONLY Mats Sundin,Eric Lindros (Peter Forsberg,Foote,2 cupsetc),Erik Johnson, and Nathan Mackinnon not being enough for 30 years and only once in this system! How dare you! They are going to get a damn fine player with that pick.

They are just being greedy. Thought they were looking at a top-2 pick with Sens pick and also miss playoffs and land another top-10 pick.

You guys aren’t going to go off the board.

Devils are almost certainly taking Hughes and you guys will take Kakko and the Metro will have two new young superstars in it for years to come.

Agree. I'd be very surprised if you don't take Hughes. Ticks a lot of boxes for you guys.

We should forget about Panarin. Insert Krava and Kakko into the lineup next season and just roll with it. No other UFA additions. Getting a top-5/10 pick next season would be huge.
All I kept thinking about this system can potentially be the best in the league after June 2020 similar to what the Leafs were a few years ago with potentially more pieces. So much excitement and possibilities. I completely get the excitement for Panarin now, its much more tempting. I just think staying the course one more year is in our real best long term interest. Besides, cap space can disappear pretty quickly. We have to plan better then Toronto did.
