Welcome back!!! I think you're right about Gorton doing the GM speak but every single new york paper should put pressure on him to draft Kakko lol
You can't hype him too much. NJD Get the Post too!

You know, looking at this thread’s predecessor, you can sort of get an idea of just how electric this place would be in the moments after a cup victory.

We have no reference point because the original site came on board 3 years after our last cup. But it’s been very interesting to watch.

404 error for sure

From the highlights I've seen of Kakko on YT , I see some Austin Matthews in him....I really do. And that my friends would be glorious for us. Man I am so stoked at what our future looks like.

A #1 line of Chytl, Kakko and Kravtsov circa 2022 is dancing thru my head as I type this...lol
Kaakko is more physical than Matthews. He has some similarities with Peter Forsberg. Of course not saying that he will ever be as good as him. He has a pretty good shot too which Foppa never really had.

Still floating on could 9 today! It sucks in some ways that the devils got #1, but you know what if this does anything, it adds to the rivalry. Still can't believe we have the opportunity to draft a potential superstar.

The more clips I watch of Kakko the more I want the kid. Kakko is a beast! Reminds me of my favourite player of all time, Peter Forsberg.

Please please Debbies, pick Hughes.

I really hope you get Kakko. Will for sure start following Rangers and might even book one more trip to NY just to watch him ;). He is a true beast

I was thinking of Forsberg as well in terms of how he plays the game. I doubt he'll ever be as good. But I'll take a lite version of him any day of the week!

Tampa fan here. Congrats on the results last night. I am a huge fan of the rebuild so far. The pieces are starting ever so slightly to come into focus. And I see a team in a year or two with loads of high end talent. Gorton is showing that patience indeed is a virtue.

Go all the way this year - for you, for us!

What are Kakko's vitals?

He looks bigger than 6"0 and 180

Is he 6'2 and 195?
6'2 and he's listed as 190. I heard somewhere that he was 200-205 now, not sure if it's true.

He's only 18 too!

He's fast for his size and he just absorbs hits almost like Jagr did. Sometimes it seems like people just bounce of him. Imagine when he's older!

Hopefully your boys go all the way and we get another 1st rounder along with Jets 1st and Stars 1st (WCF).

All I kept thinking about this system can potentially be the best in the league after June 2020 similar to what the Leafs were a few years ago with potentially more pieces. So much excitement and possibilities. I completely get the excitement for Panarin now, its much more tempting. I just think staying the course one more year is in our real best long term interest. Besides, cap space can disappear pretty quickly. We have to plan better then Toronto did.

That’s it exactly. This is not a completed project by any means. Add a couple of short term UFA adds for more veteran leadership? Sure. I’d love to see the return of Byron Boy. But, don’t do anything that impacts the cap long term. Get one more guaranteed high end forward in next year’s top ten, with the other firsts augmenting the high end talent, and be ready to rock’n’roll in 2020-21.

Not seeing this mentioned in all the excitement but don’t we also now hold the 33rd overall pick as our 2nd rounder?

That’s an extremely valuable spot
