Gorton can’t trade that Dallas or Tampa 2nd rounder until he sees how the playoffs shake out but I have a feeling he’s going to be too excited to wait on Fox and he’ll make a deal with Carolina after the playoffs conclude.

Why sit back when you can work yourself and others into a frenzy?

Yup, there's a healthy level of paranoia and then there are those who zero in on 0.000001% chance it won't be one of Hughes / Kakko. Litmus test is right within this thread.

The thought that next season we’ll likely have

Kaapo Kakko
Vitaly Kravtsov
Igor Shesyorkin

All legitimate game breaking top prospects on the Rangers next year.

And also a real possibility of Adam Fox

If we get Fox who is already a top 20 prospect. We could potentially have 4 prospects that’s ranked top 20 which is insane.

Ugh don't mention Pettersson. That's the only thing that can bring me down right now... Imagine if we had him instead of Andersson.

But I Digress. Kravstov is going to be awesome. Guy had 21 in 50 on one of the WORST KHL Teams offensively. Add that in with Kakko... **** man this team gunna be good.

I still wonder now if you trade Kreider or if you keep him. I also wonder if this makes signing Panarin a good idea -- I am leaning towards Yes
When a team HAS what we already have AND adding Kakko for sure, more 1sts and 2nds this year, you don't get greedy and trade a KNOWN commodity and arguably one of our most important leaders/players. Trading him gets you stuff, but is still a gamble. Trading Kreider slows the rebuild down 2 or 3 more years and nixes any thoughts of aquiring Panarin as then it wouldnt make sense. One step forward, 1 step back.
We have the cap space, pay Kreider what he is worth, sign Panarin and give these kids more of that winning culture. It is imperative now to not have a really bad season. Had we NOT gotten 1 or 2, then I would say its best to lose and go 1 more lottery.

And Chytil after a full season. Both he and Lias with another preseason camp under their belts.

All of this AND ...

I’m kinda in the camp that one more big trade goes down.

Say we shop one or two of the later picks + Skjei & Kreider.

Am I crazy, or does any combination of any of those get us some nice young pieces moving forward from more desperate teams around the league? Hell, I haven’t even mentioned our seconds...

whoa boys we’re going to be S T A C K E D

I don't think it had anything to do with it. People just rationalize connections with what happened with the lottery balls. But basically people are rationalizing that had we tanked further and moved up to 4th or 5th instead of 6th, where Detroit and Buffalo were in the standings, we wouldn't have landed the 2OA. We'd be picking 6th or 7th, where Detroit and Buffalo are now after the lottery.
Ah ok, thanks. I thought there was some weird mathematical formula lol

I feel this way about Hughes/Kakko.

Hughes is a center, he is silky smooth and has potential to be a franchise center. He needs to grow into his body. But at the same time Elias Pettersson & Johnny Gaudreau aren't physical specimen either, and they're more than okay. I feel like Hughes is more likely to score more points than Kakko if he reaches his potential.

Kakko is so big, he uses his body when shielding the puck. He just goes through people, he is shifty and is real nifty with the puck while playing a sound 2-way game. He's real fast for his size and isn't afraid to go into dirty areas or take hits. I love seeing him throwing hits and basically manhandling grown men as an 18 year old.

I'll take either one on this team obviously. But in terms of style of play I like Kakko's game more.

And what happens when Kreider and Panarin contracts are albatrosses and we struggle to pay all of Krava/Kakko/Chytil etc. Kinda like Leafs situation now where they have Marleau and still top end talent to sign.

No team will have had as many first round picks as we’ve had in this 3 yeAr span. That’s how you win championships with that amount of talent in your lineup. We’ve already got a ton of first rounders in the lineup with Mika CK Howden Chytil Lias Skjei Staal DeAngelo Strome Shattenkirk Smith

So adding Kravtsov Miller Kakko Lundkvist and most likely 2 more this year with the Winnipeg and Tampa picks and imo 2 more next year (I believe Dallas wants to keep Zucc badly)

That’s a lot of legit talent here already and coming.

Weeks ago I posted that bringing Panarin to me had prerequisites: what happens at draft time (as in getting either Hughes or Kakko) and figuring out how to bring a legitimate all situations workhorse 1RD. Half way there....

I called 2nd OA a long time ago and stayed positive the whole time saying this is the year. So for all you Debby Downers and pessimists, somehow "I told you so" just doesn't cut it. :DD;)

I don't believe in superstitions or luck charms. I did however have an idea to do something I never have done. I received an Authentic Graves home white jersey over 15 years ago as a gift and immediately put it in a trophy/jersey wall hanging framed case. I took it out yesterday and wore it for the first time. Figured it could only help. Now I don't know what to do with it! Maybe put it back and break it out on special occasions.

Haven't posted since before the lottery. I'm very much looking forward to keeping in touch with you guys and seeing how this all pans out. What an incredible moment in Rangers history that only us true Ranger/hockey fans know the importance of. Sometimes this is the only place where people speak your language.

Stay positive, be optimistic and strap in for a fantastic decade of Rangers hockey!

Agree with this but Kakko isn’t exactly “real fast” he’s quick and shifty as shit especially when he’s making quick cuts but his skating isn’t great. The Forsberg comparisons he often gets aren’t far off though, I’d easily take him #1

Then you’re support guys like Lemieux (31st overall basically a first rounder)

Buchnevich should have been

Fox is considered a top 25 prospect in the world. You redo that draft he’s a first rounder.

Hajek a highly regarded 2nd rounder as is Lindgren.

Shesterkin is considered 1 or 2 as best goalie prospects outside the NHL and Georgiev might be better and is younger.

Just a deep deep group over the next few years imo starting next year with a playoff spot. I’m telling you we get back there next year.

Somewhat agree except that keeping Kreider is not what would entice (or not) Panarin signing with the Rangers. It's Ziba, Buch, Kravtsov, Chytil, Kaapo.
