Same story every week: offense sputters, defense keeps them in. The offense finally comes to life and by that time the defense is too tired to hold the dam.

Why Tomlin enjoys living on the slimmest of margins is hilarious. For going to W&M he didn't get a great education in statistics, probability or economic theory

Lol…

Ask Tomlin and Canada and they'd say "the players just need to execute".

This is obviously what Tomlin wants.

He thinks he can zig and play Marty Ball while the league zags and has modern passing offenses.

Smartest guy in the room wearing no clothes.

That’s why I no longer have any hope the problem will be fixed with Canada’s removal.

Lol…

Let me guess, the refs told them the plays?

I am currently for trading whatever isn't nailed down. I'd play absolutely every rookie. They have legitimately been one of the lone bright spots in this entire season. I would absolutely try to flip DJ. He can run the crispiest route in the NFL, but if he doesn't catch the ball, it's irrelevant.

I would maybe go out and get a vet and then draft a guy at WR. We also need to find a way to get Herbig on the field way more. I'd very seriously consider utilizing him and Kwon Alexander. It would give us two insanely fast MLBs, though they may be a little light.

This organization needs to become more cut throat in the way it operates. Holding on to coaches, coordinators, and players because they are entrenched here is not working. Produce...or get cut. Produce...or get fired. The fact this offense coordinator still sits in that booth at this point tells us everything we need to know.

I kind of hope they trade Diontae Johnson so he can play in a real offense for the first time in his career.

In the right situation, he's probably a 1500 yard WR. It ain't here. Right now having picks to rebuild this offensive line is much more valuable than DJ, IMO. If Kenny can't get protection, he can't get the ball out. Simple as that.

DJ is unbelievable at getting open. He also has cost this team countless times with his soff play and many drops. He's great and then he's awful...........classic box of chocolates.

- Denver in Week 2 2020 was the last time they hit 400

Week 5 2021 (also against Denver) was the closest they've come since with 391 total yards

Highest output in 2022 was New Orleans in Week 10 (379 yards)
Highest output this season is a whopping 333 vs the Raiders

Last stat: the Steelers D has allowed 11 400 yard games in this same span. The Steelers are 4-7 in those games (1-1 this season, beating Cleveland and losing to Houston)

Do they have a 'yards allowed per 60' type of stat? Kind of hard to keep the opposing team below 400 yards when they have infinite number of possessions every game.

Which lends to the idea the root of the problem is Tomlin and not Canada.

Not exactly groundbreaking news, but as I’m starting to suspect, while Canada is atrocious at his job, he’s just a fall guy to keep the heat off Tomlin.

And we saw the Steelers defense call out there stuff.
Half of the playbook is because of KP. They don’t do rpo and motion he rarely throws it over the middle of the field and when he does he is late

I just think that we need to do everything we can to give Khan and Weidl more picks. Get out with the old and in with the new. Let's try to manipulate the draft like great teams do. Herbig is an animal. This next draft I'd like to see them draft a OLB in the top 4 rounds, flip Highsmith in 2025, and let Herbig take over. They should be flipping Johnson in 2024. I'm at the point of being OK with them flipping Najee for literally anything. The line does blow, but he also blows right now.

If I were the team's staff I'd tell him don't come back to this team until you are 220. Anything more than that, you sit. He runs like he has cinder blocks on his feet.

It's all for not until they overhaul the coaching staff.

And no, I don't mean replacing Canada with Sullivan (which is 1000% what is going to happen).

Diontae targeted 14 times. George Pickens targeted 5.

Connor Heyward had more targets than Pickens.

This is why I said losing DJ earlier in the season didn't matter.

Once he is back then the offense is being run through a small, slow and unreliable WR with a career 10.8 YPC avg.

"But he runs da good routes darrr!"

Cool. How's that helped this offense the last few years?

Over his three prior seasons his highest YPC was 10.9....

Broken down 34 year old Ward avg 12.8 his final season.

DJ is the only WR since 1950 to lead this team in receiving yards and avg 10 YPC. And he's done that three years in a row!

So in 72 years of Steelers football, he's the only guy to have 10 YPC and lead the team in receiving yardage.

It's a big problem.

They really need to find a more explosive X, find a bright young OC, and finally figure out how to run the ball if things are going to change.

I almost didn't watch yesterday, and I think after that, I may be full on the DGAF train. Go grocery shopping during the game.

Matt Canada has to go and the OL has been a big issue but the fact that Pickett misses layups like this cannot happen at this level. Baldinger's audio on the clip is excellent and man that's a walk-in TD with competent QB play, even if Johnson wasn't the first option.
