Art signs the checks if he doesn’t want to pay the he going rate for assistant coaches and position coaches your not going to get the best of the best.
I dont understand how the ravens can pay Harbaugh the same as Tomlin and invest another 12 million in assistant coaches.
Andy talked Art into expanding the scouting staff and paying more
& if Tomlin wanted more & Rooney doesn't he should resign & go elsewhere

I lived through this and, while I was just a kid, remember thinking all the bad stuff about Bradshaw, probably because I kept hearing it on TV and maybe even from my dad. All the kids in the neighborhood wanted to be Joe Gilliam when we played backyard football.
When Bradshaw went off the field on a Stretcher with a broken wrist the Steelers crowd at 3 Rivers was cheering & not for him to feel better & not be real hurt. Only Sellout the Maulers had was when the Biringham Stallions came to town with Cliff Stoudt as QB & threw iceballs & Beer bottles at Him

Tomlin isn’t getting any funds to get assistant coaches Canada made 1.5 million the ravens oc makes double that
Zack Willson was worse than kp Lance especially when a team traded multiple picks for

Right, it’s his budget and nothing to do with the fact he wants to hire his cronies and control everything.

He has no coaching tree - none.

He’s too incompetent at hiring coordinators, it’s not an opinion, it’s a provable fact.

Now AR2 had to fire his latest colossal mistake, and Tomlin is lying through his teeth he fired him, just like he lied about the Arians shit and the truth eventually came out.

Yeah or he should not re up without more money for his assistants
28 other teams would pay him 12 million tomorrow

You mean when he wanted to bring back BA but Art said no. Multiple people have disputed Dulac reports that Art fired Canada but that doesn’t fit your narrative
No one cares about a stupid coaching tree especially Art since he doesn’t want to actually invest in the staff

OH BULLSHIT They "Retired" Arians because he was to close with Big Ben ! Just like They "Retired Dick LeBeau because Tomlin wanted to implement his "Vaunted" Defense & LeBeau went to be HC of The Bengals & Arians went to be HC or The Cardinals

Dude, he lied. Flat out lied it was his decision.

So there is no doubt in my mind he’s lying now because frankly, he’s already lied about this shit before, and he’s not competent enough to fire Canada.

And ya no one cares about a coaching tree and hiring good assistants, that’s nonsense for guys who want to win playoff games and all.

In an interview with Andrea Kremer for HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, Arians said he felt betrayed by the Steelers after the team did not renew his contract. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said in March 2012 that he ultimately made the decision to replace Arians with Todd Haley, but Kremer said Arians believes the Steelers forced Tomlin's hand.

He lied, like he’s doing now.

BA said he couldn’t get him the money in that interview. So to me that means the owner did want him back you want the hc to call his boss cheap in public there’s a reason they have not fired a coach mid season since ww2 they are cheap

I’m not a Tomlin hater; just deal in reality. I have a simple question: Find me all the coaches in NFL history who won just 3 playoff games in 13 seasons and remained employed by the same franchise. I’m honestly asking that question. Can anyone answer this?

Tomlin lied and said he fired him dude, how is this point going over your head?

Tomlin made the call on Canada, hired him like a complete fool, then AR2 had to step in when he was too incompetent to fire him.

AR2 obviously isn’t too cheap to do something this org hasn’t done in 80 years.

Tomlin f***ed up AGAIN… made the biggest mistake of his career… hasn’t won a playoff game in six years, his owner had to step in and say “enough” and somehow he still has a job.

Not even Hoodie would survive that kind of incompetence.

I've been harping on this for ages. The Rooney's don't have the money to have a modern NFL franchise. They hire bottom of the barrel talent and have the smallest staff in the league. Consistently rated the worst facilities of all NFL teams. The Steelers are a cheap franchise and just can't keep pace with other NFL teams. They fact they still succeed despite all this is what's impressive.

They have plenty of money and capital to pay for things. The Steelers have one of the biggest brands in all of sports, let alone football. And It's not like owners pay out of pocket for facilities and coaches, it's all backed and paid for by NFL monies.

They're just a bit behind the times. Maybe it would have been better for Dan to skip Art II and go with a grand kid who's a little more in touch with the modern league.

joe [Gilliam] was one of the best passers i ever saw. nothing to do about Bradshaw

Gilliam had one hell of an arm, a brain the size of a raisin, and an ego the size of a planet.

He was the first complete scrub of a QB I can recall, about whom the media had a strange obsession. It's one thing to get constant media saturation regarding players like Joe Namath, which we still did even when Namath was well past washed-up, but..... THIS guy?

Years after Gilliam left the NFL, stories would pop up -- NATIONAL stories, not just local to Pittsburgh -- gushing about how Joe Willie Gillie was playing just wonderfully at the semi-pro level, and/or lamenting that he was still plenty good enough for the NFL (reality: aside from a few weeks, if even that long, he was never good enough for the NFL) and wasn't being given a fair chance for.... some reason. Go ahead and guess what reason the media picked.

Ian Rapoport

@RapSheet

#Colts LB Shaq Leonard has cleared waivers and is officially a free agent, source said. Indy picks up the $6.1M he has left on his contract and the former All-Pro can sign anywhere. He may take a few days to make a decision.

Dan Rooney took over day to day operations when his father entered his 70s. Art II became President when Dan turned 71. Art II is now 71, and the league has completely passed him and this org by. At this point he should plan on stepping back to a chairman role, which would be consistent with his predecessors in terms of timing.

This isn’t a Matt Canada or Kenny Pickett issue. The first thing to do is Art step down, then reevaluate Tomlins future.
