Leftwich is the kind of nepotism hire I'd expect this organization to make, plus he sucks at his job so that gives bonus points in the eyes of this team
if only the next guy does as wellTodd Haley was also the ball boy when he was a kid.
They need to shit can Austin. He's thanking Matt Canada this season because that unit is SEVERELY underperforming until his direction. The offense is taking heat off of him.
Need to claim that colts LBer
I really can't put any blame on the defense or Austin. They give up a lot of yards, but that's partially because they are on the field all the f***ing time. They are 8th in yards/play, 7th in points/game, and T-2nd in turnovers. And that's despite some obvious personnel issues in the secondary and injuries to Heyward, Fitz, and the ILB.
They aren't 'elite', but they are a solid defense who's been asked to do way too much.
Actually....I f***ed it up. Sorted it wrong. They are 8th worstGood stat. I didn't know that. Puts all the yards they give up into perspective.
The stat where they suck in the oppo half and turn it on in their own is frustrating, but also plays to their favour imo.
Actually....I f***ed it up. Sorted it wrong. They are 8th worst
Still, they aren't getting scored on and are turning the ball over. Can't complain IMO.
The Browns weigh in:
The Steelers have gone six years without a playoff win. That’s their longest streak since one that began in the 1960s. They are in the midst of being outscored by their opponents for the third consecutive season, something that hasn’t happened since the final three years of the Chuck Noll era. They are 28th in the NFL in scoring and at 16.6 points per game have a real chance to be the lowest-scoring Steelers team since 1970.
Simply put, the Steelers don’t win big games anymore. Where does one draw the line on too many years without a playoff win? This year would mark seven. Would the line be eight? Ten? Thirteen?
Tomlin showed extreme and misguided loyalty to Canada, keeping him well beyond his expiration date. Promoting Canada to coordinator two-and-a-half years ago proved to be the biggest mistake of Tomlin’s 17-year tenure.
his work over the past six years has been closer to a D if we’re grading on a curve — and we should be, because the Steelers allegedly hold themselves to a higher standard than your typical NFL franchise.
Everybody now is asking: How will Pickett look outside of Canada’s offense? I’m not sure that’s the pertinent question. I think we should be asking this: Even though Canada’s gone, will Pickett still be playing in handcuffs on account of Tomlin’s live-in-our-fears offensive philosophy?
The Steelers committed a dereliction of duty in putting a novice NFL coordinator with just one outstanding college season on his resume in charge of their hoped-for franchise quarterback
Ben wasn’t a HOF player in the playoffs and the killer bees played in 1 playoff games togetherAll of the bad things I have ever said about AR2 I would totally take back if this team bombs and he decides not to extend Tomlin.
The last 6 years are what Tomlin's career would look like without a stud Ben propping him up. He legitimately walked into the greatest HC position of all time. Not only was the team ready built to win, but when that team aged out, he still had a young future HOF QB left. Totally squandered his career, and specifically the Killer B era. They should have won something.
Yes that’s true. And if they lost every game the rest of the season you’d stlll carry Tomlin’s water and make him out to be infallible. So when the ride harris and warren to the playoffs and win a playoff game will people still complain
