Roberts, Walker, Jack, and Martinez has to be the oldest collection of players at any defensive position in history. But better than doing nothing.
All under 30 heck lebnard judt got cut from colts he might be here

Huh? Did something happen or is he injured or something? He was one of the best linebackers in the league early in his career.
Back surgery not enough splash plays

I don't think that one had been shared before, I wonder which game it was...

Really ballsy for a kicker to be that mouthy and for a coaching staff to let it happen.

I actually wondered if this is what happened on the final drive against the Browns. Pickett did miss 2 throws badly in that drive, but the 2nd down throw looked like Pickett throwing to no one. It seems like Tomlin is blaming that on a miscommunication between Johnson and Pickett.

That's an issue that I kinda noticed but I didn't really put much thought into it. This team was extremely sloppy offensively and you pretty regularly had miscommunications between Pickett and the WRs. Another example of how awful Canada was.

I think a lot of the things that happen were miscommunication and terrible preparation. This offense never looked ready for what they were going to face.

Gotta cut the head off, not an arm.

It was rumored that Art 2 fired him and not Tomlin. If true...Art 2 did something I never thought he'd do. If this goes tits up...do they just give Tomlin a 2 year deal and see what happens after next season?

A little birdie on the inside tells me Mr. Rooney and the minority owners have a meeting this afternoon to discuss the future of the OC spot and a name that’s being pushed hard for is Byron Leftwich.

Atrocious pick.

Doubt he would make it to the Steelers on the waiver wire but damn would that fill a need nicely.

They should have traded for him. Why are they cutting him?

Glad to see the Steelers finally move on from Canada, he was at the top of the list for their offensive woes. Now hire someone that knows how to work to Kenny's strengths and help him improve on his weaknesses.

I’ve heard from some Bucs fans that BL wasn’t the worst coordinator in the league, only because Canada still had a job.

Lmao..Byron Leftwich. I'll save you all the trouble because I live in Florida and had a front row seat to Bucs games last year.

He's as bad as Canada. Someone sticky or save my post.

Dude is arrogant and clueless. But I guess it takes a clown in Rooney to hire more Clowns

Burress Ben Colon and Foster are all speaking and want him as the next oc

So wat...?

It's because he runs Arians offense.

To save you all the trouble because I watch the Bucs...he doesn't (didn't) run Arians offense effectively. Dude has "Zero" ability to adjust and adapt.

Anyway..please bookmark my posts so ya'll can open this can of worms when and after the fact this happens. I'm pretty sure this is going to go worse for him than in TB.

Told ya so!

Andy Weidl needs to be a part of this hiring process. They can't leave it up to Tomlin.

What are his strengths?
I'd start with his ability to keep his eyes downfield while avoiding pressure. A lot of his best throws in college were due to his mobility allowing the receivers time to find soft spots in coverage. A lot of QB's commit to the pass or commit to scrambling. Kenny was always good at remaining mobile behind the line and keeping the linebackers honest because they never knew if he was going to throw or run when he started moving his legs.

What are you even talking about?

What do you mean "What am I talking about?" I Knew what you were saying and I responded to it.

Appreciate that you found my response annoying but let me tell you something. They won't let the GM decide on a."potential new" OC... got it? Yes you do.

Lmao

Hopefully we see that in the nfl cause we haven’t yet

We don't know the strength of anybody on this Offense. (except for Pickens)

TBH... the QB and RB coach don't seem that impressive either but whatever. Someone said it above (Tomlin alone should not pick staff)... but I doubt they get a high quality OC anyway, not many young OC (up and coming football minds) have been lining up to work with Tomlin in the last few years.

...some Tomlin lackey asked about Offensive Lineman trades...
According to the folks over at Pro Football Focus, Dotson is the highest-graded guard in the NFL this season with an 85.3 grade. Meanwhile, for the Steelers, his replacement Isaac Seumalo has a 63.8 grade

the other guy was a starter for the Texans and was doing really well too until he blew his knee out.

Like I said, Offensive staff needs a complete reboot (I doubt Seumalo is bad but I'm 100% his couching staff is) but you will have to fire Tomlin to get new good coaches. Tomlin will hire someone who will be a lifer/average because that's who this team is.

So you're saying he'd be an improvement?

Earlier in the year I was throwing around the idea of Mike McCarthy as a candidate for OC if the Cowboys stunk, due to his connections to the city of Pittsburgh. Seems like that's a pipe dream unless Jerry does something rash (although I wouldn't put it past him). He'd probably have HC offers anyway even if he does get fired.

Leftwich? Meh. Although it seemed as if he functioned as a semi-OC during his second stint with us as Ben's backup. Again, this organization seems to have a fetish with the "Standard", whatever that means now, so he's probably in consideration.

I'm probably going to take Tomlin at his word that he's not looking outside the organization right now. Faulkner/Sullivan will get their opportunity but we'd have to see a drastic turnaround for the offense for them to even be in consideration in 2024.

Getting some 34 year old McVay/Shanahan disciple would be neat, but that's not really our MO. Thoughts on Ken Dorsey? Trubisky has that connection with him from when he was in Buffalo.
