Why do you think it's less likely to be a midjudgment on Tomlin's part?

And if it isn't severe, what is the reason for him being a far less accurate thrower, who is throwing far more conservatively than he was prior to that Jags game?

He hasn't been on an injury report and no one aside from you is talking about the ribs. Not in Steelers media, not anything from the training staff. Nothing.

Your take is a valid theory but the preponderance of evidence is saying the ribs aren't a big deal. If he is hurt at all, he becomes the 3rd best QB on this roster and should sit.

Kenny is going to get the rest of the season at least to prove he doesn't suck. But right now it looks like a great 23 year old senior season with Jordan Addison.

Warren had 9 carries and did not get a touch on the last two "drives."

Pickett is by far and away the worst quarterback in the NFL. He had 77 net yards of passing and 15 of it was at the end of the game. It was the worst passing game I've ever seen.

Trubisky is unequivocally a better QB and probably Rudolph. One of those two win that game if they get say 150 yards passing, which is laughably low.

At this point it should be no holds barred against Tomlin and Canada by the media and fans until they bench Kenny and fire Canada.

Jordan Addison made Pickett as much money as Allen Robinson made Christian Hackenberg.

Depends on how you're replacing him. If you're just going to draft another QB absolutely not, but if you sign a veteran starter, sure.

He may not be the guy but you're better off letting him take a beating as you build up the rest of the team and then get your new QB.
The rest of the roster is pretty good sans the secondary. You can draft a QB and some o-lineman later on.

This is a league that has rewritten every rule to favor the the offense. Other shitty teams move the ball. Watch any other game on a weekend and you won't find an offense as bad as the Steelers. Captain Obvious, I know, but it really does come down to Tomlin not wanting more out of the offense, whether its Canada or Pickett or the offensive line thats responsible on any given week. Every team gains yards, except the Steelers.

It isn't good. They're 11th in points against driven solely by turnovers. They give up a ton of yards against both the pass (27th) and rush (25th).

The sole thing that is saving them is that they have 19 takeaways in 10 games. Everything else about the unit isn't good.

“If you take away what they’re good at they wouldn’t be good”

They’re great in the red zone and they’re good taking the ball away. Those are parts of the defense.

They’re 7th in the league in defensive dvoa. They’re objectively a good defense.

You have to wonder if the coaching staff is putting their players in positions to succeed, or are they continually driving that round peg in the square hole
The most important position on the field is qb, if you struggle there you're gonna struggle in the standings, it just hasn't caught up to them until today in these close games.

The funny thing is they could still win 10 games just off the quality of opponents left in the season alone.

What's gonna be interesting is if we ever hear rumors of the lockerroom finally giving up on how things are done around here, especially after Heyward retires.

I'd start Rudy. He's looked better than this.

I don't think they are willing to give up on Pickett yet.

The play calling and OL were both terrible as well.

But I'm getting to like 80-90% likelihood that he won't ever be as good as...like, Trubisky in his 2nd-3rd year in Chicago.

I mean, we're already getting it from the WR room. No OL is ever going to pop off about the OC/QB, so really the only one left to lose would be Harris/Warren.

Their drafting hasn’t been all that great lately either. 2023 might be fine - Jones, Porter and Benton look promising.

2022 - Pickett: mistake. Pickens and Austin: what does it matter when you have no QB? Leal:
Meh.

2021 - busts galore. Love Pat, but they would’ve been better served drafting Creed Humphrey. And he has been meh.

2020 - Highsmith is the only good one. And he’s been pretty meh lately.

2019 - Devin BUST and a bunch of schlubs. Diontae might be okay but again, with receivers in this offense… no bueno.

2018 - Chuks and Mason are all that remain, lol.

2017 had Watt, Juju and Conner who were at least good for a year or two. A bunch of mid in 2016 and 2015 too outside of Hargrave who they couldn’t afford to keep, but we’re going back too far now.

It would be nice if both Harris and Pickens forced their way out of here. Getting a 1st for Pickens and a 4th for Harris would give us the draft capital we need to either rebuild the OL or get a franchise QB

Yeah, I just don't agree with this at all.

No, it's that they're good at 1 thing and not good at anything else. Them being ass against both the run and the pass is just masked by them having a bunch of takeaways.

I thought Rudolph was mediocre when he’s played but I think in 2019 as a 24yo before the Myles Garrett fiasco that he was miles better than Pickett has been. Plus with Christmas coming just think of the memes.

I am bewildered that people think that all guys who are physically hampered appear on the injury report. Everything I've read about NFL culture, and pure common sense, says that the list of guys who are not 100% is a lot longer than the injury report.

Let's pick an example. TJ Watt publicly said he wasn't 100% for most of last season due to recovery from that pectoral injury. The team never mentioned it beyond the injury report when he appeared, which he didn't always for this reason. The Colts game he simply appears on it for rest.

So we know that guys play through injuries. We know that doesn't always appear on the injury report. We know that the team is necessarily going to talk about it. Therefore, the fact that nobody is talking about it doesn't mean anything.

We know he had a limiting injury that is very unlikely to be healed by now. What reason do we have for thinking that Pickett is a super fast healer other than a belief that the Steelers would fess up if he isn't?

Yes you will get a 1st rd. Pick for Pickens who has had issues even at Georgia, Put the crackpipe down

I am just honestly perplexed that there are Steelers fans calling for Rudolph over Trubisky, and I don't even like Trubisky. In this 2019 sample size where Steelers fans have convinced themselves he was "good" in, he had a 13-9 TD-INT ratio and got benched after throwing 5 interceptions in 6 quarters to a 3-6 Browns and 0-10 Bengals team. Rudolph was an absolute turnover machine when starting, he had interceptions in 6 of his 10 games and had multiple turnovers (either fumbles or interceptions) in 4 of 10 games.

If you want to start a QB based on what they did in 2019, it makes a hell of a lot more sense to be calling for Trubisky. Trubisky made the Pro Bowl in 2018 while going 11-3 with a 24-12 TD-INT ratio and was actually an effective starting QB in his last 3 seasons with the Bears (25-13 record with a 65.3% completion%, 57-30 TD-INT ratio and 89.8 rating). The Bears just got stupid and decided to downgrade from him to Fields.

I think this is deceiving though. When our offense fails to keep drives going, other teams have more chances to rack up yards. Time of possession is huge.

No, I will not put the crackpipe down.

And it's rich that you of all people are advising not to use drugs. If you're not on them it's even sadder than I thought.

I mean, I seldom agree with him but he's not wrong. Trubisky had 3 seasons that dwarf anything we've seen here since before Ben blew out his elbow.
