It's beating a dead horse, but the truly egregious thing was that final drive. There is no way you can blame that on Canada, the OL, the WRs or anything else. Pickett just missed throws badly, they weren't even close. Even with all of the other issues in this game, that last drive showed how bad he is right now. Him having flaws as a player is one thing, but him missing passes as badly as he did in that drive just exposes how poorly he's playing right now.

There were always questions regarding how good he could be in the NFL, but the Steelers have ruined him and he's just awful right now. He needs to be benched just to give him a chance to reset if nothing else.

We have a guy that can’t call plays and a QB that can’t make reads or throws. What could possibly go wrong?

Just an all time terrible offense we’ve had to suffer through for years. This is the first year I’ve actually turned down tickets to go to a game. It’s just not worth my time and that’s sad.

I think this game will be the game that causes a mass exodus of Pickett supporters away from Pickett. That last drive was an exclamation point on it.

Also lol at these refs. The Steelers deserve to lose this game but the refs have been favoring Cleveland this entire game.
I mean you have to move on from him after that. He literally couldn’t do enough to give them a chance to win. Killed the one potential TD drive with a sack. Couldn’t lead any other drives down the field. Can’t hit a receiver. None of the pass game mistakes were on anyone but him.

Drafts over the next few years are going to be interesting.

Definitely have to continue to draft the lines, but Watt's gonna age out of his prime in 2 years if not sooner, Heyward will retire before then, and Minkah will be nearing 30 in need of a new deal. No receiver will want to sign here with this offensive play design and lack of quality quarterback play, so will likely have to push receiver up the priority list sooner rather than later.

Going to be a while before they fix all these issues.

I simply do not get how anyone can look at Pickett turning from a guy who throw over 200 5 out of his 6 first games into a guy who hasn't thrown over 160 in 3 and not think he is physically hampered.

I don't get why he's not sitting.

edit: And as such, I don't get why people are making decisions on him now. It'd be like deciding Watt is no longer an elite pass rusher based on the second half of last season when he was hampered by that upper body injury.

I also don't get why they didn't ride Warren like mad.

Tight end no where to be found. Receivers always outside the hash marks. Running back by committee when there's obviously one number one. Poor offensive line play. Absolutely horrible punter. Defense on the field for too many plays due to the offense.

What do you mean by "move on"? He should absolutely not be playing next week, but to give up on him because of 1 game is a bit too far.

I still don't think they should give up on Pickett until they get a new OC.

If they do decide to put someone else out there, I really hope Trubisky steps on a lego.

I think that’s the nail in the coffin to me for Pickett ever being the guy. Decent stop gap maybe but oof.

Even a bad passing performance wins that game.

Move on from thinking he’s the guy. I want him replaced this offseason.

Depends on how you're replacing him. If you're just going to draft another QB absolutely not, but if you sign a veteran starter, sure.

He may not be the guy but you're better off letting him take a beating as you build up the rest of the team and then get your new QB.

Replacing Pickett next year through the draft is likely not the best for future contention unless they waste a bunch of picks to jump to the top 5 picks, but they have holes everywhere still so I'd argue that's not the best choice.

So unless a Cousins/Rodgers veteran type falls into their lap I'd just keep Pickett/Rudolph and let them tank command the team to a better pick next year, they likely won't be as lucky with one score games as they were this one.

The only reason to rush to try to replace Pickett is to try and salvage the last remaining prime years of Watt, put I'd argue they're already beyond that point, so to me there's no rush outside of preventing a potential mutiny in the lockeroom if they demand a better qb.

The execution was shit on the final possession but I hated the play calling
