The Baltimore Ravens announced TE Mark Andrews suffered a cracked fibula and an ankle ligament injury in last night's game.

Update: #Steelers and free-agent LB Myles Jack have mutual interest in signing, per
@RapSheet
The former 2nd round pick by the #Jaguars previously said he was considering becoming a plumber or electrician prior to his retirement earlier this year while he was on the #Eagles

Here was one guess at what happened. I’ll have to try to find some others. This guy is one of the better follows imo for Steelers film stuff.

As far as the rest? Good question but I have no clue. I’m thinking it was just a spur of the moment thing with a guy improvising a route. Which I don’t think is all that uncommon.

this was 3rd down, right? lets be real, in FG position, to go ahead late in the 3rd qr. this staff is telling him to be safe, maybe gain a few yards so boz has an easier FG, and def don't take a sack

the surprised look on canada's face when KP hooked up with GP on a long ball with a minute left in the game, after an audible, is all the proof you need

sort of OT but good god its annoying reading page after page of could Kenny start at a D3 school.

Are there any streams of WPIAL HS football? MSA sports used to have some... I cant find a stream to save my life.. it's semi final/final weekend and I need some football here.

Been thinking about rivalries about this week and have a multifaceted question for Steeler fans comparing your rivalry with the Browns vs Ravens. You can answer this about what your opinion is and/or what you've seen as the fanbase opinion on the whole.

1. Are the Steelers main rival the Browns or Ravens? I imagine the Ravens will be the answer.
2. Because of the original Steelers/Browns rivalry, and the Browns subsequent move to Baltimore, are the Ravens viewed as the spiritual successor to the original Browns? This is the main question I have.
3. For those who think the Ravens rivalry is bigger, is it primarily based on it's own merits from 1996-present, or is it also in conjunction with the Ravens being viewed as the spiritual successor to the Browns 1.0?

My opinion from the outside is while the original Browns had to leave behind their name, colors, and history, they took the Steelers rivalry with them to Baltimore.

The main reason it's the Ravens is that the Steelers are like 129-4 against Cleveland since they came back into the league. It's a far more even rivalry.

I was talking about this with my wife (the native Pittsburgher out of the two of us) the other day and she put the division at Ravens-Bengals-Browns, for much the same reason Brightside gives. Ravens is a war. Browns is a turkeyshoot.

No surprise. This is kind of like how much the Packers/Bears rivalry has fallen. Is viewing the Ravens as the original Browns spiritual successor a common thing in Pittsburgh?

Well I'd pump the brakes there a bit. There's a difference between running on GB vs Clev.
It's gonna be a slugfest Sunday. Both teams may not eclipse 250 yards each.
Cleveland’s pass D isn’t that great. Can’t live in our fears. 1st play of game would be great time to try a PA pass

I’ve never seen so many people bend over backwards for a coach who hasn’t done anything meaningful in 14 years.

Let’s ignore that Tomlin last sniffed a playoff win in 2016.

He obviously knows what he’s doing because he eeks out 9s every season.

Mind boggling logic.
Go ahead and rip on Tomlin. Just also blame the QB when the QB is playing like shit.

I’ve already said KP has regressed, just like I give Tomlin credit when he’s due.

I don’t get attached to players or coaches, and they could trade a guy like Watt tomorrow and I wouldn’t care.

I care about the end result, which has been severely lacking for this org for years now.

When a coach sets a modern franchise record for playoff futility and has been blown out in his last four playoff losses, and he’s the constant variable with his hand in everything, he is the one I’ll scrutinize the most.

Awesome. Have fun with that. It has nothing to do with Pickett sucking in his own right though, which was what I was talking about. I mentioned the coaches tongue in cheek because people watch Pickett lock onto a player and force a pass to him when there is a guy wide open right behind him who never gets even a glance, and they blame the coaches. It is dumb and I have never seen another player on the Steelers get so much benefit of the doubt when he clearly is struggling mightily. So feel free to gripe all you want about the direction of the team under Tomlin, but that does nothing to defend Pickett for sucking when he is on the field.

Feel better now?

I’m gonna still go ahead and stick with the root of the problem though, if it’s all the same to you.

But if you are angry people don’t get mad enough at KP, that’s really swell to.

I'd give this one up. Literally if a tree falls in Argentina he will go on an epic rant about Tomlin. I don't even care for Tomlin that much and would be perfectly fine with them moving on from him and he makes me feel like the biggest fan boy to ever live.

It isn't about being angry. It is about the absurd lengths people are going to avoid blaming Pickett when Pickett plays like shit.

I'd just like to know what football gods Tomlin is sacrificing chickens to. The Browns and Bengals down to scrubs at QB. Ravens lose Andrews. Patriots probably playing Zappe. The Colts also on their back-up QB. The Steelers have to at least go 5-1 in those games.

I explained this extensively already, but I’m sure it got lost with all the exaggerating coming off that Brightside poster’s kb.

So not wasting time rehashing it.

If you think KP never gets any blame, you must have a legendary ignore list.

Vegas has us a underdogs tomorrow

The same arguments have been made non-stop for weeks in here. One side thinks Pickett sucks because he's not putting up good numbers, and the other side just wants to see him put in a better situation before concluding he's good or bad. The arguments in this point are just talking past each other.

I personally think the "Pickett sucks" crowd is a lot more unreasonable in this discussion, not because they criticize Pickett but because there seems to be some downright fantasies being argued against in here from that side (like "no one criticizes Pickett because he went to Pitt" or "Pickett deserves more blame for the offense than Canada"). But at this point, no one is going to convince the other side of anything. The same arguments made today are the arguments that have been made for weeks, if not longer.

Muth back, Neal to IR. So much for the idea that Neal could help fill in for Alexander and Holcomb. Nothing like laser focused injury luck.

I'm not even sure it's so much about whether he sucks. Nobody disagrees that the performance needs to better, and I think there's relatively few people who've absolutely made up their mind on him.

It is, as TooManyHumans says, one side thinking its absurd to the point of annoyance that people bring up the circumstances around Pickett's poor performance so much.

And the other side thinking it's completely natural and usual to bring up those circumstances.

Which does make for a circular and futile discussion, yes.
