Yeah, he torched us. I watched that game in Siesta Key, FL and it was a bar that was packed to the brim with Pitt and WVU fans. It was a great time and BFW went completely off that game.

BFW is also the guy that allowed the pass to go off his hands that Devonshire returned for a TD with like 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter. So it gave me tons of warm and fuzzies.

PFF gave D Wright to the Steelers in their latest analytics mock, claiming he could unseat Moore:

The Steelers may have found their franchise quarterback in Kenny Pickett, but now they need to surround him with pieces to allow him to develop and succeed. Taking Darnell Wright, the best remaining offensive lineman on the board, would be a huge boost in that department, as he would replace Dan Moore Jr. at left tackle and give Pickett a solid line to throw behind.

He can play both sides, but do the Steelers see him as a LT prospect?

Baldinger has Wright as his top T in the draft.

Riddick claims he is in the convo for best player in the draft:

Yeah, Ford-Wheaton could be a real steal if he can put it all together. He was either stealing games or invisible at WVU. Great ability with contested catches. Just an all around physical freak as well.

Yep. His consistency has been really bad, but I think if he can put it together, he could be a really good WR - kind of like Peoples-Jones in Cleveland.

Yeah. It's why he's going to be a late round pick.

He probably could. He has. But he likes playing the right side more.

I'd draft him, put him on the right, and let Moore and Chuks fling shit at eachother. I think Wright is a plug and play Pro Bowl RT.

Chuks already shit the bed enough when he was at LT, and I’d like to see KP have a long career, so I’d pass on the Chuks at LT thing unless they get desperate.

Agree that Wright should be drafted as a RT.

Would give them the makings of a stout line with one weakness… unfortunately it’s the most important position on the line.

Maybe the left side will be less of a shit show with Dotson out of there.

Yeah. I'm hoping getting Dotson out of there improves Moore. We are going to find out who the "Melichar" of the situation was there.

I just think having a right side of the line that can really road grade helps Najee, which in turn helps Kenny.

Titans already giving up on Malik WIllis and are rumored to be in on the QBs in this draft. Titans gave up on Willis after *checks notes* 61 NFL passes.

I didn’t really expect Malik Willis to be great, but I also don’t know what the Titans expected. He was a mega raw prospect that needed to sit for probably two years so they didn’t do him any favors by playing him year 1.

Where are all of the "willis is a better prospect than Pickett" people?? The problem with opinions is that there is never any accountability for people who continually get everything wrong.

He was a third round pick for a reason.

Last year at this time Tomlin had me severely concerned he was going to draft this guy…

It’s the first time I would have lost my mind over a pick, ever, as a Steelers fan.

What kind of accountability? Death sentences maybe?

All of us are wrong enough times, who f***ing cares.

Yeah, and some of those people make millions of dollars for that opinion.

Willis needed AT LEAST 2 years sitting and learning. If I had an established veteran QB, I'd ring Tennessee today and try and get Willis for a 5th rounder or something like that. If he can sit, he has potential to be decent. I am curious to know if he'd be open to a position change also. He could be a good RB.

I don't get the ferver over the Titans moving on from Willis. He was a 3rd round pick. It would be like being upset that the Steelers decided to move on from Mason Rudolph.......

I'm actually surprised any team used a draft pick on him last year. His tape and career said UDFA to me.

The fact that they drafted him, threw a super raw prospect to the wolves, and then act like he isn't cut out for it is a bit odd and a waste of a pick.

A team was going to take a chance on him because he has raw skill. He may just be a gadget type player in the NFL though.

Two possibilities for what's going on with the Titans and Willis (among many)

1. The former GM was the guy who believed in him while the HC was going "I dunno". That GM got sacked in December and there's a new guy, so it's possible the new GM doesn't like him, the HC doesn't like him, nobody wants to be tied to a long development arc.

2. Maybe his personality wasn't as advertised and they don't see him having the ability to study and become the guy, or be worth keeping around on the off-chance he is.

It's also just possible that with Tannehill breaking down quicker than expected and with a high pick, they want more certainty than a long term development arc. That's just sensible to me.

And I don't think there should really be any surprise about teams throwing 3rd rounders under the bus to get a better player next year. I'm very grateful the Steelers did that with Kendrick Green. Better to correct the mistake quickly than throw good money after bad.

Who the pick should have been. Most of us knew it then, and it's only becoming more evident now.

Calvin Austin 3rd
cool story but he's never played a down

He may not even get to 17 now.

He’s been on the rise for a couple months, so who knows.

The lack of elite WR prospects is going to make the top 16 picks possibly unfavorable for the Steelers.

I don't think Sims was even that good as a PR. Better than Gunnar, but Gunnar is currently slated to be back and has a history of being a lot better than he was. If he doesn't cut it, and Austin doesn't cut it, then you can probably grab some cat off of waivers (I also expect to get a guy with experience doing it if they draft a WR).

And if all of those things don't work we will shake our fists about losing Sims... but right now, I don't feel that concerned.

Austin is a talented punt returner so he will likely get first shot.

Steelers will sign an UDFA or bring in another guy to compete for those duties.

It’s not really something I’m too concerned with though.

The guy is 5'7" 165lbs. The amount of big shots he can take is near zero
We are going to find out. He did just fine in college and posted back to back 1000 yard seasons. Sauce Gardiner said he was one of the toughest guys to cover in college. Devonta Smith is basically the same weight he is and he is productive.
