I like this whole new idea they have going on that if someone isn’t good at their job, they replace them.

Well, except Canada.

Bush, Spillane, and Jack produced zero splash plays - gone.

Dotson almost got KP killed, now he’s put on notice and zero chance he will start outside of a couple injuries.

IOL should be beastly now. They are just one good LT away from a top ten type OL.

I think FA will now allow them to be really aggressive moving up in the draft to find a LT.

I don't know what is out there, but if there is a young LT out there in the NFL who is starting and succeeding, I'd seriously consider trading top 96 picks next year for him.

Our IOL is awesome. This puts Najee on notice, IMO. No excuses because they are going to get push for him.

Too bad for Dotson that he never coached Tomlin's kid.

I really wish this Rodgers trade would go down soon.

Likely means Jets give up at least their first this year and Packers have no need for a LT.

Just might be the difference between the last LT on the board slipping into the Steelers range or not.

If these guys stay healthy and we draft a LT, it’ll really be do or die for Canada. He should have been let go already, but this season he’d have quality at all positions. No excuses for being a bottom 5 offense.

Agreed. One of the things I always wondered last year was how poor the players were versus how poorly they were being coached. Since the FO appears to be addressing the player end, I guess we'll find out.

I'm beginning to think about drafting another WR/TE again. The room works with everyone fit but it's one injury from feeling a bit tight and both DJ and Freiermuth aren't models of fitness. There's a starting position to take with one of Austin/Miller/Heyward jr slated to start at this point.

Love what’s going on with the o-line. Team needs some weapons though. DJ still sucks. Whose even WR3 at this point?
Austin is wr 3 and Miller is wr 4

Yeah’s they are definitely drafting another te they will have more 2 TE sets and less 3 wr sets next year

Austin, but I can’t imagine they won’t bring in a vet or draft a guy, maybe both.

DJ has shown he’s not a money guy that can be counted on.

Austin hasn’t played a down in the NFL, and Pickens hasn’t proven he’s a #1 yet.

With the ILB and O-line moves, this new brass doesn’t seem to be playing around with underperforming/questionable positions.

I don’t know if it’s the smartest use of a high pick but D. Washington from UGA and run 12 personnel all day would be awesome to watch.

They only bring in a vet after the draft they aren’t paying the for what is on the market now. No need for another 10 million dollar Wr. I think they focus on DL next in FA

Darnell Washington is around 40 on the Athletic consensus big board (which I don't entirely trust but best i've got), so we're talking, what, 32, trade down from 32, 49 if you're lucky, maybe a trade up for 49... what beats using one of those two picks that way?

You're in position to get a good IOL or RT. I don't think IOL is needed, although I am a little curious about what the plan is at C if something happens to Cole. RT is something they can use, either cutting Chuks to save money or having some depth at OT. Some depth is a need and if you wait, you're taking a bit of a gamble on a development project, so kind of need to pull the trigger there unless you're happy to take a veteran/gamble.

You're in a position to get a good CB and I think they need to get one unless they trust Witherspoon again, although it feels like this year you'll probably have some available in the 3rd round.

You're in a position to get a good DL, but I think there might be some available in the 3rd, and the guy you draft in the 2nd is probably a rotational guy at this stage. Maybe starting nose tackle?

You're in a great position to get a RB but we don't need don't need one, WR but Washington would mean not needing one, forget QB...

ILB? Need and position kinda line up but you can probably get just a rotational piece with potential in later rounds and maybe that's all they need. Someone like Daiyan Henley.

Safety, dunno when you look to draft those.

So... early pick seems fair for a TE in general. Team need feels like it's not an outrageous use of a pick.

I feel like it an ideal world the team gets good value at OT and CB with the first two picks. After that? It seems pretty legit.

I do think the team needs to do something about ILB - even if its just bringing back Edmunds and continuing to use him a lot as a hybrid when needed - but once they do that, I feel like that's the only gap where I'd feel nervous about them not plugging it in the draft ahead of a second TE.

So... yeah. I'm down. Feels like it makes real sense, and not just "screw it all, I wanna see a ton of massive guys for lulz".

I don’t think they are in any rush, not like there are big name WRs they have to get after before they are gone.

Maybe a post June 1 cut if they can’t find help in the draft.

Great signing for Seumalo

I wonder if they will go after Donovan Smith next? Is he still good?

I still really have a feeling that teams will be afraid of Skoronski’s short arms and view him more as a guard and it will lead to the Steelers getting their left tackle because of other teams stupidity

James Washington is a free agent. Could always bring him back for depth if he’ll ride the pine like he used to.

I’d think teams would look at Slater’s success and not want to pass on Skoronski.

I’d absolutely love to be wrong though - NFL org do some really mind boggling shit at times.

I can't even remember what Jordan Love was like as a QB it has been so long. Hopefully for Green Bay he can come in like Rodgers did.

It will be do or die. This is year 3. He has his guys. If this offense fails he needs to be shit canned by week 6.

Khan is great. I am a fan of the direction he is going. Things just make sense. I hope it translates to the field.

I think Khan and Weidl have been outstanding, in my opinion. Really curious to see how they draft and how aggressive they get there. If this draft is successful, I'm a true believer. Now we just have to hope Weidl wants to stay here and not get his own GM job somewhere else.

I'd take a TE in this draft and not think twice. THere is going to be a 1st round talent at TE dropping to the 2nd or maybe even 3rd round.

Honestly I think the best thing we can do for Pickett is to bolster that line (seemingly doing a great job so far) and nab a high end TE that's athletic but a good blocker as well.

If we don't have a ton of WR threats give him a rock solid run game/line and two monster TEs that can get him chunk plays and improve redzone potential.

The old Pats 2 TE model is still one of the most daunting offenses I've ever seen. Did Brady play a monster role? Sure. But having tight ends that cause matchup issues is incredibly smart to me.

I'm right there with you actually. Pickett has the ability to carve teams up with short/intermediate throws. I'd absolutely nab a TE out of this draft. Washington is probably my least favorite top TE in this draft, but he makes SO much sense here because he can block and he's the exact same size as Gronk was, which would be a huge help in the red zone. Pickett has some of that Brady skill where if you can't get to him, he'll just march down the field 8 yards at a time. If I'm the front office, I embrace that about Kenny and build that up.

In this draft I'd also look very closely at OLB. If we can nab a guy like Nolan Smith in the 2nd round, that maybe be a really good pick up because we can then make a decision on Highsmith and save some money there. Maybe even trade him and get a couple of picks. 10+ sack guys don't grow on trees and his production wasn't tied to TJ, unlike Bud.

I hope they trade down if possible. Looking at the players likely to be available, I don't see that much difference between 17-40.

If I had to guess, it will be Porter; my surprise pick would Kancey. But they could go NT, LT, LB or S as well. The only way to know would be to be in their room.

Based on this offseason so far, I'm trusting that they have a plan. Can't wait.
