Damn I really thought they needed to keep Sutton. Their secondary is ugly right now.
It’s a way bigger need than LT imo.
They were probably double dipping at CB either way WAllace is in his last year Witherspoon is in his last year and they have nothing else. They didn’t value Sutton enough to give him 23 million guaranteedI've seen speculation that the Steelers are actually more focused on bringing in a new CB with their 1st than help to the OL, and losing Sutton makes me believe that speculation more.
They're probably going to take Porter Jr with their 1st.

I've been calling this for the past 10 months. Damn I want to be wrong so badly
I don't have any issue with taking Porter Jr with their 1st. The issue is that they're doing that because they think their OL is fine, or at least doesn't have a massive hole at LT that it appears to have.
The only justification I see for not taking a LT in this draft is if there isn't a guy that will stick at LT with their 1st or they're signing someone else.
They have been pretty open about Moore being the LT. They are more interested in LG and C that can pull and fit into the zone blocking scheme they want to run. As KP gets more comfortable with play action they will add more Qb movement and roll outs This is the same organization that had Villanueva and Starks at LTI don't have any issue with taking Porter Jr with their 1st. Not really Porter is the best m2m press CB in this draft he could go to philly at 10. Some mocks had the Lions drafting Cb at 6I am by no means a scouting person, but this is what I understand:
- This class is deep in CB's
- This class has 3 top OT's
- Porter going at 17 would be a bit too early
I thought FA started on Weds? That’s way too much for Sutton. Good on him though
Legal tampering period started today…he hasn’t officially signed but just a report he’s going to bc they offered the mostI thought FA started on Weds?
YeahI thought FA started on Weds?
It begins when the NFL League Year does (in 2023: 4 p.m. ET on March 15)
Teams are allowed to negotiate with the agents of upcoming unrestricted free agents during the "Two Day Negotiating Period," a window prior to the start of free agency (in 2023: from noon ET on March 13 until 4 p.m. ET on March 15). Self-represented players ("Unrepresented Player") can also speak with members of team front offices (but not coaching staffs) during this period; this was previously prohibited.
Adams put up better numbers than buggs last season he is a solid depth player but buggs only had 21 tacklesIsaiah Buggs resigned with Detroit.
Amazing we let him walk with the trash we have on the DLINE.... FARTs
Definitely a need this offseason
I watched Buggs get a lot of penetration for Detroit the couple of games I watched them down the stretch. I didn't see Adams do nearly as much in the 17 games I watched the SteeelrsAdams put up better numbers than buggs last season he is a solid depth player but buggs only had 21 tackles
Buggs had 1 sack last year. He did a good job applying pressure here. He was a highly recruited player in college who was very immature that is why he fell in the draft. Happy we didn't overspend for him. Lot's of interesting ilb's in this draft.Tremaine Edmunds to the Bears. 18 million per year with 50 million guaranteed.
He was my pipe dream signing for the Steelers but that’s an insane contract.
I guess there's three possibilities here
1. They are still thinking sign one, draft one, but think they can get better value on the signing elsewhere - seems a little dubious given how much fit matters, but we'll see
2. They're planning to draft two and funnel FA money to positions where the draft is thin (DL, ILB) - this is potentially really smart
3. They think starting one of Witherspoon and Pierre every nickel set is fine (or maybe they plan to use 3 safety sets instead?) - this seems bonkers
