I saw the same video, Robinson read the play and should've tagged Watson for a big sack but he went for the hit over the tackle. It was a good read though.

Hyped for this season. Many guys to track this year.
It's funny because it's like when a guy has an open net in hockey and he misses. It's the excitement of having that opportunity. When he has a guy in his crosshairs he wants to absolutely tattoo him. He plays straight N-S football though, and I love that. He's much less likely to get washed out like a guy like Bush did because he's not running E-W with the play. Robinson is a good interview too if you haven't watched any of those. Perfect attitude. I'm a huge fan of his.

I think you have to credit Watson some there for avoiding the tackle, although admittedly Robinson could have made it more difficult. Still, not every QB will make that play.

I just cant wait to see Robinson connect on one of these hits because it's going to be epic. I remember when James Harrison broke out and thinking to myself, "This is the hardest I've ever seen one player hit another." James Harrison and Ray Lewis v. Jerome Bettis. The 3 of them, I have no idea how they got back up after some of the hits they laid. Robinson gives me Harrison vibes. Now whether he learns how to hit that hard with any sort of ability to wrap up is another question entirely.

The more I watch that video the more I think it's a predictable outcome. Robinson is on a 10-15 yard run up straight ahead of Watson. The moment Watson looks downfield he'll see him. I think he sees Robinson at 8 yards away. Sidestepping a committed guy if you see him in time should be bread and butter for QBs.

I dunno what they teach guys to do in that situation but I'd have thought staying in the feet, arms up, and forcing him to keep evading would make more sense than a low percentage hit. But maybe they're coaching go for the hit and just be better.

It makes so little sense in many ways, unless they are planning to let Highsmith walk, which I don't think they would do. Young is going to cost a fortune next year, and though we need rush depth that's like lighting a match with a flamethrower, and Young would have to be cool not starting. Could work for 1 year I supposed, but I'd rather keep our draft picks too.

Some team will trade for Young and give Washington more than we ever could (should). I don't personally see the great appeal for Young. He is an athletic freak, but even coming out in the draft they said he had poor awareness and a mediocre football IQ. When I watch him...that's what sticks out to me. He's definitely the first dude you want coming off the bus though.

The SI story I saw linking the Steelers to him was basically citing that he turned up as having good odds on a betting site. So no actual reporting, just some sports book has them as a betting favorite. What a world.

The rest are all blogs. Is there actual reporting that suggests the Steelers could be in on Chase Young?

The Steelers need to spend the money for Young on a playmaker WR/TE. They need a Ja'Marr Chase or Justin Jefferson or Antonio Brown or in a simple form, a true #1.

Can Pickens get there, maybe. But they need a go to guy.

Honestly don’t think he would cost that much he had 1 sack since his rookie year and they didn’t pick up his 5th year option. They still don’t have a long tern Olb3 and the defense is built on pressure causing turnovers. It’s probably just the i don’t ever want to lose enough to draft you talking but definitely interested

Why WR is way to dependent to dump money into it. Year 3 of KP is when you should go all on offense but they are all locked up for 2 more years

I don’t even know how good Chase is anymore. He’s barely played and hasn’t been productive outside his rookie year.

Yeah I don't think he's that great, like I said above. He is a top notch athlete, but I dont see a good football IQ.

Ideal for a “you got one job” situational player? I don’t know.

I still haven’t seen any reporting or even rumor that genuinely links the team to the player.

Nah wouldnt be that much unless there's a bidding war.

Hes been hurt alot and underperformed.

Chase is still..... young though. So it'd be more of a low risk high reward type trade.

Cause it finds a way to get over his injury bug, and can produce again like his rookie year he'd be a steal.

But ya I think the cap space could probably be better spent elsewhere. I think Chase gets 11 mil this year??

I'd be into it depending on cost.
You can never be too deep at pass rusher.
TJ Watt, as great as he is, will probably miss 6-8 games this year because that's what he does.

I mean for 5 mil. Depending on what they want I do that trade all day.

If he shakes the injury bug that would be a huge depth at with potential to be more than that.

The only link anyone has is when he played against Pittsburgh his rookie year and Ben and Tomlin were yacking it up with him. For how much money he's going to get, he needs to be more than a one trick pony, and he hasn't proven that he can take over a game thus far.

I can come up with 10 reasons why trading for him is a bad idea, and half a reason why it's a good idea. If he could come in here and learn from TJ, maybe he can reach his potential. I just don't think he's an instinctive football player.

5m is too much for a one job situational edge rusher, assuming their job is either "passing downs only" or "run downs only" unless he's amazing at that one job.

And even then, I think low football IQ is still going to hinder if that's the problem. Is a guy going to recognise a Tackle's move and think of the right response in time? Is he going to notice the QB is going to get flushed by another player and be in the right position?

Yeah I don’t really know if Young makes a lot of sense. He probably wouldn’t take much to acquire but I just don’t see the long term fit. If he has a good year, he’s going to want a big contract which I can’t see the Steelers doing since they’ll be paying Watt and Highsmith a ton.

If they’re going to make a trade at this point, I’d rather them go after someone like Isaiah Simmons or some other position that has a long term need.

Simmons makes the most sense to me also.

Question: who is the NBA team of choice in The Pitt? geographically I know your closest options are the Sixers and Cavs, which I know are both cities you have friction with in other sports.

I got curious after watching The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh and I’m an ABA fan. RIP Condors.

I’m a casual Bulls fan, but that’s because of the Jordan influence when I was a kid and the fact most of their games were on TBS or whatever growing up. Cant say I pay close attention anymore, but if I had to pick a team it’s them.

TBH, the NBA is a garbage product. It's either everyone bombing 3 balls, or clearing out one side of the court for a one on one play. The officiating is atrocious, and the "defense" is a joke.

I'll take college ball 10 times out of 10.
