According to Gerry Dulac, the Steelers only have an interest in one QB in round one and that’s Willis…if he’s not there at 20, he thinks the team won’t pick a QB until rounds 4-7…FWIW

i also think Willis is ”their guy”…i would t be surprised if they move up a little for him….I get the Mahomes comparison someone made in that he has fantastic physical traits; however from what I’ve read he doesn’t have nearly the accuracy and decision making skills Mahomes had at this point in his college career

Willis is not getting out of the top 10 so we are good. They have done way to much work to not take a QB before round 4.

I can believe they've narrowed it down to only a few guys, maybe even one, that they'd take in the 20th, mind, but it doesn't sound like anyone knows for sure.

Willis and Mahomes were nothing alike in college. Mahomes was a refined passer who threw an ungodly amount of times.

Mahomes came from an air raid offense and almost threw for more yards his final season than Willis did his ENTIRE college career.

Mahomes slipped in the draft because he had the air raid stigma.

That’s not true teams like Seattle Atlanta trade back into 1st Tennessee all could go QB in late 1st. Detroit at 32

Tomlin said he wants a Qb whose competitive. Willis isn’t competitive he was beat out by 2 freshman at auburn and transferred to liberty over Virginia Tech because tech wanted him to be a athlete not Qb. AR2 wants a QB who plays in the pocket but can run and Colbert said accuracy is the most important thing that’s not Willis. That Corral and Ridder

I really like their off-season so far. Add another impact player. Build the TEAM. Give Mitch a shot. If he’s good.. great we had a good year. If he sucks, ok we have a good draft pick and let’s take a qb next year.

This is a year where I personally don't really have a player that I am hoping the Steelers target in the first round. Last year I wanted Harris but this draft I'm not pounding the table for the Steelers to pick a personal favorite. Seems like every day I keep changing my mind on who I would want.

Willis is definitely getting out of the top 10. Carolina is going take Ekwonu at 6 or trade back and he will still most likely be there. Seattle is going to take Stingley (I think he goes at 3 though) or Davis. Willis is going to be available at 20

A couple of tidbits from Gerry Dulac’s chat yesterday:

— Seems to think that Jordan Davis is the top guy on their board. If they trade up for anyone, thinks it’ll be him

—Seems to think Willis is the only QB they’ll consider in round one. Says there’s no chance they trade up for him though and only consider him if Davis isn’t on the board.

—Thinks the first round pick will either be DL/WR

He really hates the idea of drafting a QB and wants them to draft a DL badly, so I don’t know how much of this is info he’s being fed by the front office and how much is his own personal feelings coming in to play. He’s also the guy who said there’s no chance they sign Myles Jack about 4 hours before it happened so I don’t know how much he actually knows.
