Yeah, WR is exactly what this f***ing team needs now.....

DL is old as dirt. Division just added Watson, we have no #1 CB, no real threat across from Watt, no starting SS. And of course, no legitimate answer at QB.

Yeah it’s almost like they have multiple needs or something.

We'll be facing Watson, Lamar, and Burrow 6x a season. Ouch.
On the bright side, Lamar was awful last year so perhaps that MVP season was an outlier. Watson hasn't played in a year so he'll likely be rusty. But cinci dominated us last year, I see no room for optimism there.

Trubisky is likely at least as good as 2021 Ben. O line is better. If Tuitt and Alu x2 come back then that would solve the run D issue short term. But the DB's are very below par besides Minkah.

I expect a 7 win season.

I wouldn’t call the DBs below par. The CBs are both legit starters. We really need a quality SS though.

Honestly - would love for Colbert to continue turning heads with a trade down to late 1st or early 2nd & get more picks. I really really like the talent available through pick 90 or so, and it matches up with Steeler needs.
Not against it. I think the OL is serviceable now. We need WR with JuJu leaving and we need a CB. We could use a NT and a S.

I think they go WR now.

With Tomlin here, does it matter? We'll firmly be a 9 win +/- 2 wins...

A yearly "Always in contention... never really had a chance" team

We are the Calgary Flames of the NFL.

Ben was great, and I'm by no means saying we weren't a better team with him, but the breath of fresh air may be a good thing for this locker room. We also now have a legit NFL head coach on staff, which Tomlin has never had.

projects to be WR3 in the slot behind Claypool and Diontae

McCloud was lost to the Niners on Thursday

I think he’s an NFL receiver, decent as the 3 although I’d have preferred Juju. Not sure about spending high end draft capital at the position though.

As I said before even all of our UFA WRs departed lol, the Steelers need at WR is just as critical as at DL…we just don’t have speed at that position (DJ is more quick than fast and Claypool does not get separation)…we need someone who quick out of breaks, sure hands and with speed to burn…that’s not a mid round project but a sure thing…I hope they seriously look at WR in the first round over a two-down nose tackle, but certainly must get one by day two at the latest

To be fair they were a 9 win team with an over the hill Ben.

If we had a QB like Burrow or Watson that would add 2-5 wins a year.

Scorching (?) Take: Good for the Steelers that the Browns did this.

We see time and again when you have the mega-paid QB it is very difficult to put a team around him. It usually works best in Year 1 when you can massage the numbers - pun intended - before the cap hits start ratcheting. But this particular QB is going to be out 6-8 games in Year 1. The Browns will have the great/troubled QB but with little assets around him. I realize they'll recoup something for Baker.

Watson couldn't elevate a bad team in the Texans at all really. I realize he's fighting uphill but I ain't impressed with his results there on the W/L front.

The best asset is a great QB on a rookie deal or having just signed his extension. After that? I think I'd rather pick the Steelers path of QB treadmill versus the great QB getting PAID. Because the Steelers will still have the opportunity to get the guy on the rookie deal in 2023 or 2024.
