And we know with 20/20 hindsight sitting BR would have been idiotic. In fact, I’m more than certain they don’t win the SB the next year if BR was “redshirted”.

So not exactly sure what your point is except…. the Steelers are a stupid org? No clue what other point you could be making.

I have no idea if Lance is ready, but you think him sitting longer will help him develop? Uh…. no.

Jimmy G was a train wreck and the 9ers won despite him. So again not sure what point you are even making with him either.

Letting a rookie first round QB be redshirted as a third stringer wastes an entire year of his development.

There is no sound argument that his development won’t be stunted this way.

Not sure how else to get that message across to you.
My point is they don’t see it as a wasted year of development if Pickett redshirts this year and then competes with Mitch next year for the gig. He will have to ball out in pre season to force them to dress him at QB2. Tomlin owes it to the other 52 men to play the best guy. It shouldn’t be hard for him to beat out Mason for the back up role

Just going from The Athletic camp notes, but if Rudolph spends all of camp behind the 2nd team OL that can match the 2nd team pass rush while Pickett is running for his life from the 3rd team pass rush that completely owns the 3rd team OL, that's going to be a pretty lopsided scenario for Pickett to work through before even getting into Rudolph's baked in advantages in terms of familiarity. I mean there's a reason Rudolph is outshining Trubisky right now as well.

Also, I disagree that Tomlin owes it to the rest of the roster to go with best guy now rather than best guy for the future. The franchise's need for its next long term QB outweighs its obligations to its players today.

I snagged him in my dynasty league, so fingers crossed.

I just think he has an "it" factor. It's even being reported he's making ridiculous catches in camp. He has the feeling of being one of those guys that is added to an offense, and the entire complexion changes. He screams "#1 wideout to me" with his combo of size, speed, athleticism and toughness. It puts Johnson in an outstanding position to capitalize, and Freiermuth should see some really good looks down the middle of the field.

Best case scenario is that these offensive weapons we have can make one of these QBs look good and we can turn one or two of them over for a pick. We need some draft capital, especially after the draft that Baltimore just had, which I think will go down as one of the best of this generation.

You don’t draft a 24 year old rookie with a 1 and then redshirt him. IF your org knows how to develop a young guy - and yep we don’t know if Tomlin knows how.

So I wouldn’t be surprised if he mangles this under the delusion this team is going somewhere.

People can also keep saying “if he can’t beat out MR”, but MR knows the system well and will likely have the best camp/preseason of the three because of that experience.

That creates a conundrum because MT and MR aren’t taking this team anywhere.

They need to find out by next season what they have in KP and for the billionth time, nothing good will come from redshirting KP this season.

The faster they find out if KP is legit or not, the faster they can truly compete again or move on to the next guy.

With only three preseason games and KP getting reps with third teamers, he’s very likely not going to be “balling out”.

Tomlin is going to have to make a tough call that manages the present (lol) and future.

Kaboly and a few other camp bloggers have had high praise for both Pickens and Austin.

Kaboly even had some hyperbole about how these two could help make this one of Colbert’s best classes.

We’ll see when the pads come on how things go this week.

The should trade dj! Several teams need a WR would give multiple picks back. A Miller could easily pick up some of his receptions.
Miller didn’t even dress last year when juju got hurt and Claypool missed the lions game.

If he is struggling against 3rd teams in pre season than he isn’t the guy. The guy should elevate the team around him unless he is a game manager.
If mason knows the system because he was working with Canada for a year then KP who was a freshman and started 4 games used the Canada offense while he was at Pittsburgh and Canada went to lsu.
Mitch said he was familiar with the offense cause it’s similar to the Bills offense. The offense is used in high school and college it’s nothing earth shattering. It’s RPo with motion sweeps te shovel and having your wr group interchangeable and having the ability to have multiple options of players what boils down to 6 plays.
The only offense KP ran successfully in college was whiple pro style his senior year but even than he struggled with pressure that wasn’t there. KP probably isn’t a tractor like Ben he is a trailer like Mac jones

They would get a 3rd or 4th for DJ. I doubt a team is giving up more than 1 highish pick for him
Hollywood brown just went for a 1st DJ numbers are better than Diggs was putting up in Minnesota when he was traded to Buffalo. Just cause he had the corpse of Ben has his Qb doesn’t take his trade value down

Tomlin will mangle this. I've said it before but until they rid of the toxicity of ownership and coaching staff, any franchise QB that gets drafted here will be a Career wasted.

Pickett (as happy as I was they chose him) it is unfortunate for him to be here. The best thing I think he can do for himself (hate to say this) but take what he can learn from his time here and get to Free Agency ASAP, to a team with a better staff in place.

You could always follow the Browns until he gets fired or retires.

Beating up on third stringers doesn't mean he's ready to start, doing poorly doesn't mean he's a bust.

He will likely have a mixed camp and pre-season, just like BR did his rookie year. Then it will be up to Tomlin to understand the importance of KP being second string and the reps, potential to play in games, that comes with that status.

But it's Tomlin so, I expect the worst.

And don't forget Canada's role in this too.

Let’s see if the NFL ups the suspension at all. I think this was just the decision from the third part judge.

If it does end up being six games that’s an absolute joke though. The NFL - where smoking weed is just as bad and sometimes worse than being a serial sexual predator.

It’s ok to be a sexual predator if you have a lot of money to pay off your accusers.

Hilarious
Ben got the same suspension

24 accounts of rapey behavior = 2 allegations

This is the arbitrator’s first case, so I suspected she would do something like this. I thought it would be 8 games at the lower end so I’m pretty shocked.

She determined it was “non-violent sexual misconduct”. I highly suspect the alleged victims would say otherwise.

If NFL doesn’t appeal, they will have a huge public shit storm on their hands.
