Nice to have football back. Ugly performance but that's the kind of sloppiness that you usually get in the preseason when guys are still shaking off the rust and you have a ton of young players playing.

I know Gay will get ripped for giving up the TD but it wasn't really his fault. He was supposed to have safety help over the top but both safeties bit on the play. He also won't be covering slot guys like Cruz in the regular season. It was reported Cortez Allen will play the slot this year but he's injured and Gay has lots of experience there which is why he drew that assignment in this one.

I thought DeCastro looked really good. Him being healthy all year would be a huge addition to this team.

I thought all the rookies looked pretty good for the most part. Landry Jones looked a bit lost but QB is extremely difficult to come in and play, especially when you're 3rd string and playing with a bunch of other 3rd string guys that also don't know what the hell they're doing yet. It's going to take time with him but we have Ben and Gradkowski for now. No rush.

I like the potential of the starting O-Line but the depth is not that great based on what I saw from the backups.

Ta'amu was kind of a mixed bag.

I liked some of what I saw from the undrafted rookie D-Lineman Brian Arnfelt. He's probably a practice squad guy but he just has that look of a guy that could spend a year or two on the practice squad and turn into something down the road ala Steve McClendon.

I know Robert Golden dropped that pick but I still like him. He just looks like a very solid backup safety and combined with Shamarko Thomas I like the depth there.

The Steelers really need a depth CB and depth WR to step up during the preseason. It was nice to see Isaiah Green breakup a couple passes. Maybe he'll be that guy at CB.

Depth at corners has been ignored as much as OL was just years before. I don't know why they did it that way. Once again... we see why exactly we need corners.

But hey... NFL really pisses me off anymore. It's hard to follow these guys and really care.

Losing Keenan Lewis hurt. He was poised to be the number 1 corner here.

But yea, the NFL, hell football, is just all about the spread offense now. You NEED 3 to 4 solid corners. Why retain a young, good corner when you can keep Foote around for years?

Like I said earlier, we were basically reluctant to keep Manny Sanders. Imagine our O this year without him?

The USMNT was due for a dud, but that doesn't make this performance any less depressing...especially when the guy who scored Bosnia's second goal was raised in St. Louis and said he would've played for the US if he ever got the call.

edit: Well, Jozy Altidore said enough of that and we're tied in the 60th minute.

edit2: And then he scores two more for a hat trick. Yanks win 4-3 in Sarajevo for their 12th consecutive win. Just amazing.

I think the Steelers need a bit of help in a lot of key areas. In years past, it would be nice to get guys in specific positions for depth purposes, but with wasn't a complete must. In 2014, a must is a corner, a safety, a middle linebacker, and depending how out nose tackles play...that may be up there too.

In the very near future we need to draft a tight end and we could probably upgrade the offensive line, but we'll see how they shake out. I'll be watching some A&M this season. I like Matthews, Manziel and Evans. I'll be curious to see where those guys shake out when the dust settles. I think Jake Matthews has Steeler written all over him, but at this point in time, we'll need to have a pretty piss poor season to even get a stab at him. At the very least a stud right tackle. Potential to be a stud left tackle.

just in case its not obvious, I really don't care that you guys are here

but seriously, **** osu.

Haha. I mean to say that we on the CBJ board (OK, myself anyway) are just as glad to not have a crapload of OSU talk. While I do find it weird that there's more here than on our forum, I don't mind it, not one bit!

Disappointed here Ogre, usually I have nothing but good things to say about you. Not now. :p:;)

I'm pretty pumped for OSU football. A lot more pumped than w/ Steeler football right now.

I'm more pumped for OSU every single year compared to the Steelers. The buzz going around this team is big, really big. Hasn't been like this since 2006 when Troy Smith won the Heisman. ****ing pumped.
