You're going to hang him on his record for last season when he was hired midway through?

Let me guess, you're some type of blogger or journalist who thinks they know more about a sport than the actual athletes who play it.

It's almost like the top players just fluked into being the best, like McDavid, Yzerman, and Sakic don't understand the game at a level you and I will never understand.

Imagine being so delusional.

Everyone who plays a sport at a high level understand the game better than any of us sure. How does that make them a qualified coach? If that’s all it takes why isn’t everyone who has ever played professionally a good coach? Shoot Saturday doesn’t even have a winning record as a high school coach.

There’s more to being an NFL coach than just understanding football. You’re essentially the CEO of a team.

Yeah, I guess I was just speaking for me when it comes to the reasoning being inexperience since I don't really care much what color the coach is. I can see why for some people (maybe most) it may be the color of Saturday's skin or a combination of lack of minority representation in the HC positions and a white guy like Saturday getting hot shotted into a HC job over minority candidates with more experience. It is an odd hire regardless of skin color.

I wasn't the biggest Riddick fan. I found some of his evaluations questionable. He was a huge Haskins fan, called Devin Bush the best player in his draft class etc. He did have lots of experience in front offices though. A bit different than Saturday who has no NFL or college coaching experience, we all know what the issue is.
Seems to be a double standard.

I can't believe I actually have to say this but it's probably a combination of his playing experience, football knowledge, personality, public speaking ability, and the fact that the organization is familiar with him.

Head coaches typically don't even call the plays. They have assistants that handle most of the game planning as well.

I can't believe it's even a question as to why some people might be shocked that Saturday was appointed.

If you still think this team is a model organization then I don’t know what to tell you. Also, they don’t win when it matters…and haven’t for several years
Oh my gof they havent won a superbowl in 14 whole years and hvent been to one in 12 Omg what a disgrace.

Its the thinking of a child, not someone who understands how to run a successful business.

I cant imagine what people like you thought in the late 90s. When they went 20 years without a SB and Cowher had 3 straight losing seasons.

In the late 90’s I was only 8 years old, so I didn’t really think much of it. Also, I’m not a Steeler fan so watching them be bad is actually quite fun for me. What’s even better is that the guy who is primarily responsible for them being bad and failing when it matters is guaranteed a job until he decides to leave on his own accord. So right now I’m thinking this is grade A entertainment

Cowher was the better coach. Even with the 3 losing seasons he'd still coach circles around Tomlin.

There isn't going to be another Superbowl appearance as long as Tomlin continues to coach.

Further proof as to why Tomlin is a Clown. And will always be a Clown.

“Yeah, it’s amazing,” Smith-Schuster exclaimed. “I’ve been in a system [Pittsburgh] for five years where, you know, we had a defensive head coach where, you know, defensive-minded, and you know, it was totally… it was a big difference, big change. And I think being here [Kansas City], having Any Reid, actually helps us study the plays, and you know, go through it day in and day out. It’s actually really, really nice.”

Yeah he went to a top 2 QB and top 2 offensive coach not surprised at all

Again, it doesn't matter who the OC is. This is Tomlin's offense and how he wants it run. Period and end of story
He wants a Miami and 49ers offense with RPo motion they need to add more high low concepts and KP has to attempt to throw it over the middle instead of coming off the read pre snap

It's already been quoted by players on this years team that they hardly or don't study much film. It just seems to me that it doesn't matter what kind of offense is run, it's not going to work if they're not putting the proper work in.

Because they don't study film, This is the go out and beat your man offense. Probably why Tomlin likes to draft Receievers in early rounds in hopes he doesnt have to put work in.

It's hilarious and predictable at this point.

Well that’s on the players the new cba limits how much time you are forced to stay at the facility and watch film. All players get tablets to take home. There’s a reason why the cards wanted to put a film clause in Murray contract. You can get together outside of the facility and watch film without the coaches that is what Brady does and he broke Covid protocol so did Tanahill when they practiced at school.
Ben wasn’t a film guy I am hoping because the offense is so young the grow together and become film junkies. Watt and Fitzpatrick love watching film

I mean, it doesn't matter how and where. They are documented as a team that does the absolute minimum compared to other teams and it shows. Week after week it shows.

Ben didn't have to study film. It wasn't a requirement here at the circus and the head Clown didn't enforce it.
