I mean, it doesn't matter how and where. They are documented as a team that does the absolute minimum compared to other teams and it shows. Week after week it shows.

Ben didn't have to study film. It wasn't a requirement here at the circus and the head Clown didn't enforce it.
You can’t enforce it. It takes accountability amongst the players to invest time outside of the facility.

Coaches can’t enforce it. No one forced Willson Brady Rodgers to watch film.

So playing another crappy team who is slightly a road favorite in the Saints?
The Steelers are so going to win this one in a boring error filled snooze fest aren't they?

And in doing so move closer to out of a top ten pick.

If Jalen Carter is there, we have to take him. That's a defensive cornerstone. If he's not there, I'd absolutely back up and parlay that pick into multiples.

Ya I can get behind that, just don’t think he will be there past 5, but who knows how the board will shape up after the combine and senior bowl.

Tons of teams tanking the saints should not be one since the don’t have a 1st this year. If you think this week a snooze fest in 2 weeks we got the colts on Monday night. Only thing keeping our entire 2nd half schedule a snooze fest of crappy teams is 2 ravens games in December but even they have blown multiple 4th QT leads

Cowher was the better coach. Even with the 3 losing seasons he'd still coach circles around Tomlin.

There isn't going to be another Superbowl appearance as long as Tomlin continues to coach.

Cowher was a better coach, but he wanted to draft Andrews over Roth.

Thinking Tommy Maddox was a reason to pass on a franchise type QB was bananas.

True enough, every coach has their faults. He was definitely pushing for the game manager QBs. He thought short term,Maybe because he felt he had 1 run in him (retirement) and didn't want to deal with developing a QB.

What are you talking about? A HC is supposed to give directions, hes the boss!

Btw The fluff piece on Tomlin was a nice read but this was written by guy who basically grew up as a kid and fan (he states this below) with Tomlin there so of course he has an attachment to Tomlin and Tomlin is all he knows..

Yeah the HC can force the entire team to watch film and he does that. He can’t force them to watch film on their own or during down time.
Monday is day off get treatment Tuesday is day off Wednesday start film for Sunday opponent and previous game install defense specific game plan. Thursday offensive plan install Friday 2 minutes red zone sat walk through

I think what would help is that there will be 3 QBs in the top 10. You know how wild things get when teams need a QB.

Even if Will Anderson is there, I think we have to take him. He's a game wrecker, and I think he could be a really good 3-4 MLB. Bring back the stunts and zone blitzes from the past.

Will Anderson in the 1st and Siaki Ika in the 2nd would see us be completely dominant against the run again.

With some guys coming back on defense, and the schedule looking relatively easy, I think the only way they get a really high pick is if Pickett continues to struggle.

I would rather Pickett do well and them fall out of a top ten pick than him struggle down the stretch and have a top ten pick.

Ya it’s fun to speculate, but no matter what they do, next years draft will be critical about determining where this org is going.

If they whiff, it’s going to be a major setback.

He wants a Miami and 49ers offense with RPo motion they need to add more high low concepts and KP has to attempt to throw it over the middle instead of coming off the read pre snap

No, he wants attrition football where his offense keeps the ball so his defense rests. Mike Tomlin Looooooooves 3rd down.

A coach can't enforce it by limited snaps or playing time? Then what's the purpose of having a coach?
Or are you saying Tomlin is a potted plant?

I thought he was dead set on Philip Rivers, wanted him badly but could not get up high enough

Basically Cowher wanted Andrews.

Passing on Marino also was a huge driving force why they drafted Roth and KP.

Our great grandkids will be hearing how AR4 couldn’t pass on robble robble because 70 years ago Dan Marino.

Is it though? Of course I want them to nail it but unless you think that the Steelers are close (I don't) they will be picking high for a few years to come before clawing back. So setback? Yes. Major? Only if they are closer than I think that they are.

No there’s a reason he went after Canada offense cause he loved watching San Francisco the rams and we and got the guy who mccvay tracked down in northern Illinois and loved his motion offense. Tomlin wants to use RPo Haley brought the RPo to Ben AB and bell Ben never really got it. He adapted to just snapping and throwing. He wants play action and pocket movements

This may be their only chance to have a high pick, and three top 40 picks, in the next several years.

I don’t think they are far off from being legit again if they nail the draft in the spring.

A lot of that will depend on KP though.

If he flops and they blow the 2023 class, I guess it won’t matter much because that will mean an extended rebuild.
