So if a playoff team offered a 1st for Hayward would take it.
I think I might move Larry O if they don’t do an extension and go after hargrave in FA
Heyward has earned the right to decide if he wants to be a Steeler lifer or not IMO. If they had a 1st offered, I'd take it to him and ask what he wanted. If he says he wants to stay a Steeler, I respect that and turn it down. If he wants to go win somewhere else, good luck to him.

The room was emptying out, but players who were still around got noticeably quieter, including a group of receivers huddled around a phone.

Probably hoping they got traded, too

That's not the Steelers way to trade a long term vet. Unless Heyward specifically asked for it

Sorry, I was emphasizing.

That "plus" is likely a 4th/ 5th rounder.

Here comes more cronyism:

Jackson played for then Bengals' DC Teryl Austin back in 2018. Together they set an NFL record giving up over 500 yards of total offense in 3 straight games.

They know each other well...if you will.

Usually I’d be pissed, but if he helps then lose, good.

This org has to hit the bottom of the barrel to admit who they currently are.

If they got offered a first, I’d say “sorry big guy, go win yourself a SB”.

He’s been compensated quite well as a Steeler, neither party owes the other anything.

That tells you exactly how shitty they are at selecting CBs lol

I’ve been following the draft since I was a kid in the early 90s and I can’t recall them ever drafting a good corner outside of Ike.

I think WR is very much in play for one of the Steelers first picks

If only Marvin Harrison Jr. was a ‘23 prospect
Addison baby give KP his college guy like Tua Burrow and hurts.
I don’t think they go Wr if simms or boykin show anything since Austin GP and DJ plus Muth are the top 4 options in 23

They don’t owe him anything but it’s good business to take care of your guys, especially a top employee.

Treat your best talent well and it will help you attract and retain more top talent.

This isn’t a Fortune 500 company though.

The Steelers rarely use FA to find legit talent and trading a guy for a shot to win a SB after he’s been well compensated, isn’t exactly something that will keep those second day FA from signing in Pgh.

He’s pretty garbage now.

When targeted this year teams have a 149.9 QBR against him and he is giving up 84% of targets for completions.

As you can guess, those are some of the worst numbers in the league for any corner.

On a positive note, he’ll fit right in and help them keep losing.
Interesting. I didn’t follow him much recently but knew he was good in Cincy. Just saw he wanted out of Washington.

He’s been hailed as one of the biggest FA busts in Wash history.

He apparently didn’t fit into their scheme he claimed - and the D actually did better this season when he was out.

It’s a small matter.

It’s like getting mad someone walked by and threw a turd inside a Porta John.

While I obviously wish that he was not so pouty about the situation, I on the other hand do not blame him. He is not saying, or feeling, anything that we have not been in line with.

It is his job so yeah, act like a professional even if your coaches don't. But I give him a partial pass on this.

His numbers have gone down every year since well, Canada took over.

Dude can’t get paid if he doesn’t put up numbers, so I get it.

Claypool was such an incredibly frustrating player to watch. I thought the sky was the limit after his rookie season. I never saw a player who didn't use his size to his advantage more than him. I like the trade as it seemed, according to reports, he was a distraction.

So you cant answer the question? Exactly what i thought.

You're talking about 1 play, who cares? Yet in the past 3 years ive asked you what does Tomlin do on this team? Or hell what does he do FOR this team?

You never provided any answers and it still continues to go un answered.

I'll tell you the answer. He does absolutely nothing.

Edit: For a coach that preaches beat your man and defend blades of grass! I'm afraid I did answer your question on the play.
