I highly suspect they will have a second half surge and pick 12-16.

It would be typical Steelers.

Absolutely.

I posted this a few times before. The Steelers have the 7th easiest schedule over the remaining nine games. And Watt back. They will have this surge and people will make up this story that it was Tomlin's brilliance that righted the ship or Superman Watt. When it will be nothing more than a garbage team playing a bunch of other garbage teams.

If this team picks top-5 in the draft and can flip that pick to Seattle for 2 1sts and 2 2nds, they're going to be able to rebuild in one draft if they pick well.

Imagine if the Claypool trade ends up being pick #35 and the Steelers trade their pick #3 for pick #10, pick #15, pick #40 and pick #45. They'll be sitting at #10, #15, #33, #35, #40 and #45 this year.
Would a team give up that many picks? Even just getting (in theory) #10 & #15 for #3 seems steep. But I don't pay enough attention to football draft pick trade value I guess.

Who would take 4 high picks. You could retool a ton of positions

Can we trade Najee for a 2nd?

It is human nature to go to extremes.

Tomlin when graded on the whole is at worst an average coach and I will even give him a small bit above average. He certainly has flaws, and I have been among the most vocal in pointing them out. I will not get into all of them again, we all know them now.

But there is a huge room for grading between moron and genius.

I'm not being facetious when I say this. But Tomlin's calling would be a) College Coach or b) the head of the Boys and Girls Club

He grew up poor and could identify with these young black men. Honestly I fell for his exceedingly well-developed line of bullshit when he was hired. I started seeing the Emporer truly had no clothes after the SB loss to Green Bay and his "easing in" philosophy

Say what you will, but he has the ability to inspire people in small doses/short time frames (which is why I highlighted the college ball option). He might rival Saban if he started now.

Jackson is a good man coverage corner. I don’t think him getting cut was a play issue. He wanted out of Washington.

KP was thrown agt a murder’s row of teams and top end Ds.

It should get easier for him on this back half of crap teams, but NO did just have a shut out so who knows.

All those teams are looking the same way at the Steelers to though.

If they hold around 4 more wins they could stay top ten. 5+ wins they are likely looking outside top ten.

No, they would not give up that much to move up 7 spots. Even for a QB. Would probably be a 1st 2023, 2nd 2023, 1st 2024, 3rd 2024.

Nice. I thought a 2nd was hopeful, but a possibility. A likely high 2nd is real nice.

I know you've gotta have someone for Pickett to throw to, but if Claypool is worth a 2nd, could they get a 1st for DJ?

Yes, because QBs are stupidly valuable. The Titans had the #1 overall pick in 2016 and the Rams traded picks #15, #43, #45 and #76 in 2016 and an additional 1st and 3rd in 2017.

2 mid 1sts and 2 mid 2nds for a QB drafted in the top-5 isn't that rich of a price to pay. In fact, it's even less than they got for Wilson when they traded him a year ago.

He’s pretty garbage now.

When targeted this year teams have a 149.9 QBR against him and he is giving up 84% of targets for completions.

As you can guess, those are some of the worst numbers in the league for any corner.

On a positive note, he’ll fit right in and help them keep losing.

I’ll take an apology.

The Steelers made 2 trades literally twelve hours after you came at me saying I don’t know what I’m talking about by suggesting we make some moves today.
I can’t help you understand the difference between moving guys on the block and unloading veterans or swapping picks lol

We'll see what happens. I anticipate like some others have said that we win more often and finish with #12 pick.

Not that I want to watch our team continue losing horribly but I am intrigued by having a top pick to trade for high caliber picks. We really need a lot of help on both lines...

This is also a reasonable estimate, this is pretty similar to what the Eagles paid to move up to draft Wentz in 2016 (#8, #77 and #100 in 2016, 1st in 2017 and 2nd in 2018).

But the moral of the story is that you'll get multiple 1st rounders and a few other additional high picks if they trade out of that spot, if they end up in that spot.

So if a playoff team offered a 1st for Hayward would take it.
I think I might move Larry O if they don’t do an extension and go after hargrave in FA

Are the quotation marks in reference to something I missed or just an emphasis?

If that's the case, though, then trade him now!

Sorry, I was emphasizing.

That "plus" is likely a 4th/ 5th rounder.

He’s pretty garbage now.

Here comes more cronyism:

Jackson played for then Bengals' DC Teryl Austin back in 2018. Together they set an NFL record giving up over 500 yards of total offense in 3 straight games.

They know each other well...if you will.
