Jacob plays in the NHL, the french kid played in the Q

Come on with the french thing. Duclair still has more upside than DLR, even if he showed pretty good qualities for a 3rd liner.

For sure. I'm still pretty high on him. Hope its not a death in the family or anything like that.

Great to hear. One of Bozon's knocks is strength. Skating too but its not bad. Even if he shores up one of those areas it could be great for him. If he really improves in both areas we could have a player on our hands.

Shortly after the '13 draft I thought that this had the chance to be our best draft since then. Won't yield as much high end talent but like you said tons of quality NHL potential there.

Replace Crisp by Bjorkstrand and it's our best draft as for now. But wait to see how everything pan out. Maybe Crisp becomes a valuable bottom 6'er and Bjorkstrand fades in Europe.

Yeah thats nice but I said I wanted Duclair over Crisp. In the 3rd round. Not DLR in the second.

Even though I think Duclair has higher upside than DLR as well.

This is funny because you're talking in hindsight but the truth is, if Timmins had indeed picked Duclair back then, the whole of hfboards habs woulda went nuts with calls of "omg picking québec talent instead of best available" and of "omg another smurf fooken Timmins!".

No I'm not talking in hindsight. I wanted them to draft Duclair back then. I'm not looking back wishing they did.
And no I wouldn't have said any of that crap either. I wanted a speedy winger who has top 6 potential, not an over-ager grinder who would have been available 2 rounds after the pick.

Yeah... 'cause Tarasenko is just the same as Subban back then or Galchenyuk right now. Same situation. No difference...

Subban was in a somewhat comparable situation. He was a #1D when he signed that bridge contract, with plenty of upside.

Galchenyuk isn't really in the same boat as either of them. He's a good top 6 player at the moment, but as yet to really establish himself as a dominant player, something both Subban and Tarasenko did at the time of their 2nd NHL contract.

No one will care about Duclair in 3 seasons.

Yet people will always care about Crisp. Already three guys who have played in the NHL from that 3rd round. Crisp is by far the worst player/prospect in that round.

Tarasenko had a great season and is full marks for that contract. But it is a risk by the Blues. Huge reward, huge risk. Bravo to Armstrong for getting it done and taking the risk.

Habs board went nuts when they picked Crisp. No hindsight. No pretending to know the reaction of a hypothetical pick. Just fact: http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showthread.php?t=1458283
