3 hrs for Vegas and LA to plan their tie like old school wrestlers.

Was just reading the scenario. Would be hilarious if they secretly agreed to a tie just to screw the Steelers, but obviously the level of trust required would be beyond anything a reasonable person would agree to

Holy shit. Its gonna happen.

Edit... nope. How big a FU to Pit would it have been for the Raiders to just take a knee...

Double edit.... I realize you play the game to win, blah, blah blah... but if you are the Raiders, with 2 seconds left, you are guaranteed to be in the playoffs unless you have the FG blocked and returned for a TD the other way. Not sure why you take even that minuscule risk vs 100% guaranteed unless it changes your 1st round matchup to something substantially more favorable

I believe it did- someone can correct me if I am wrong but they would have had to play at KC had they tied. But now they play Cincinnati. Now, that won't be an easy game by any stretch, but I would sure rather go to Cincinnati than KC.

But man what a game- considering the circumstances that has to be one of the greatest, craziest regular season game in NFL history.

That's exactly why they did it. I'm not entirely sure why the Chargers coach called that time out. I'm not so sure the Raiders don't just take a knee if he doesn't. They weren't really in field goal range at that point.

Saw a guy with a jags win and chargers/raiders tie parlay. He might have been more emotional about that kick than Steelers fans.

Soooo.... the Grizzlies are even hotter than the Preds right now. Ja had the most ridiculous block last night...

He's 6'3, the basket is 10' and his head looks to be about 2" short of the basket. So he jumped about 3'7, or 43"... doesn't sound like an incredible amount, but the average human male has an 18" vertical, so he has more than doubled that in this shot.

Bring back Slamball

My sister hates anything that isn't hockey and even she watched that!

I miss when experimental sports could get a spotlight. I really liked Slamball, Pro Beach Hockey, RHI (roller hockey) and MILL (indoor lacrosse). Arena football was fun for a while too, but I guess it's not really broadcast much these days unless there's a team in your market.

One of my favorite Olympic sports is Handball and I have read that someone is trying to start a US Handball league in the next year or two, but that was before COVID so who knows what the plans are now.

ESPNNews had a professional tag league on there the other day and it was surprisingly entertaining.

I could not give the two-est of shits on the SEC....er National Championship but Alabama ends up all over the Pats.

Is he really only 6'3"?

That is still in the top 1% in height for the US.

BTW, the top of that "window" is 18" above the rim. That is how high his fingers are.

At 5'9", I was a good jumper. I could grab onto the rim with 1 step. I don't think I ever got more than 4" or so above it.

I stopped trying to dunk when my college friend Walt broke his wrist on a rim when we were freshmen.

At 6'3", this guy had a 12 inch head start on me in reach.

There was a guy on our floor who was about 5'6". He outjumped me a few times. I weighed 145. Jeff was about 130.

I remember David Thompson (NC St and Denver Nuggets). He could touch the top of the backboard if he wanted to.

The "Skywalker" was 6'4". Even Dr J wasn't as high a jumper as he was.

I’m 5’9” and could still grab the rim in my 30s. Couldn’t dunk a ball though, hands weren’t strong enough. Probably cannot smack the net now though. My son can dunk a soccer ball but not a basketball but he’s a bit taller at 6’1”.

edit wife says late 20s

That was a good game last night--I started watching right after halftime. I am a Tennessee grad so cheering for anyone else besides Vanderbilt in the SEC is kind of hard, anyway. Alabama is a bigger rival than Georgia, though. Much of my maternal side of the family is from Alabama, so I knew they were pulling for them. I learned when Georgia won that their happiness means little when it comes to sports.

I forgot it was even on but my sister in law is a Bama fan and my brother I guess is a bandwagoner so apparently he is one as well. The amount of excuses and crying on Facebook was rather enjoyable.

Georgia was the better team last night, but there is no question that the level of injuries suffered by Bama this year diminished our play. Last night after Williams went down (likely to be the first WR drafted this year) we were without our two starting WRs, our two most dynamic running backs, both starting cornerbacks, a starting outside linebacker and his backup, starting center, starting right guard and our best blocking TE. So no crying here, but clearly Bama did not field our best team last night.

That said, winning the title takes a combination of skill and luck (including in the injury department) and kudos to Georgia for taking full advantage of their opportunity. But we return the Heisman trophy winner and the best player in CFB next year (Will Anderson), so unfortunately for most, we aren't going away any time soon and people can keep hating Saban and Alabama.

I don't hate Saban, the fans on the other hand are as bad if not worse than Blackhawk fans were a few years ago. Tbh if it weren't for many of the fans I don't think there would be that much hate. Much like Blackhawk fans though I'm sure many are fair weather fans.

I feel like the end of this college football season was particularly unsatisfying because of how it ended with Georgia and Bama essentially splitting a two game series.
