Should be looking at his first suspension honestly. That was a pretty bad hit, surprised it wasn't called a five on the ice.
why?Should be looking at his first suspension honestly. That was a pretty bad hit, surprised it wasn't called a five on the ice.
I suspect the league would rule that the visor is a part of the helmet and therefore the same rule would apply to the visor.
Rebutting a claim of charging is not an implication? What are you even posting for? It's because you thought it wasn't charging because his feet were on the ice, which isn't true cause it isn't the rule. Then you started saying some nonsense to other about spreading misinformation, when it was you spreading it."I'm gonna say that you thought what I think you thought, but didn't say or imply and use that as proof that you don't know rules!"
Regarding the "proof", the poster in question confirmed my interpretation (post #871).
It's cool. You're mad about...the hit? Something on the homefront? Whatever. If you need to take it out on me, I'm here for you. PM me. I'll be the Betty White to your Bea Arthur.
You don't need a screwdriver.
why?
He's the most talked about player in the league right now. Not Mathews, not Bedard. Or McDavid or Nathan or Jack.
He might even be the most talked about player in ANY league over the past week, no?
Its been a rule since 2013. That's why you see older guys not having it. It was grandfathered in....Sure, a visor is part of the helmet but it's not the entire helmet.
Keep the helmet on, remove the visor. Problem solved.

meh...debatable. His momentum might have cause him to leave his feet. As for the elbow/forearm. the guy is 12 feet tall.....Left his feet and absolutely rang Lyubushkin's bell with his elbow/forearm
Like I said, its a part of the helmet so the league would likely apply the unsportsmanlike rule to taking it off.I’m not saying to remove it during the game. Only prior to the fight if you’re fighting someone without it or you both mutually agree to remove yours.

I can see both sides on the hit tbh....

Again. What is the point of the willful lies? The first one was so egregious that he wasn’t fined or suspended. And this one he wasn’t even penalized. He should get a game or two for that dirty charge and headshot, but because it was towards a Leaf player he probably wont get anything.
His 2nd headshot in his short career. Already making a name for himself as a dirty player
They will never ban fighting...The players want it and so do the fans.I doubt the league views the visor as the same as removing a helmet.
Just ban fighting if you want players to punch each others visors. One day the full face mask is going to be mandatory and people will argue the visor was grandfathered in so the new enforcer doesn’t have to remove his Bedard style full face shield during a fight while fighting a guy with a visor.

That is also a rule. Only injured players are permitted to wear a full visor....Imagine two players fighting with a full face mask.
Don’t think too many fans want to see that.
Whoever injures their hand first loses the fight.
Is he? He's 21. Anyone over the age of 30, or probably even 25 will tell you they were an absolute idiot at 21 years old with no idea of anything. He’s an adult fully aware of what he is doing and what’s at risk.

Now you’re making stuff up, injured players can wear full visors that’s it, like Bedard with a broken jaw.Imagine two players fighting with a full face mask.

You try to fight a guy that wear a full visor that makes you an moron and that's not the league problem...
Whether he still has some of the idiocy of youth in him might be debatable, but he’s unquestionably an adult who can make his own career decisions. Is he? He's 21. Anyone over the age of 30, or probably even 25 will tell you they were an absolute idiot at 21 years old with no idea of anything.
... unless they're still idiots of course.

1. Players take strides on almost every hit.1-taking 5 stride to hit someone is called charging
2-he jumping to hit lyubushkin
3-main point of contact was head so it was an illegal hit to the head.
its was clearly a 5min uncall no kind of doubt abiut it. Should be a susprnsion but dont have any faith in nhl security department...
