The guys who think their beer league contact hockey, or their pee wee football, make them an expert on contact sports and injury will never not be funny.
I do appreciate the honesty of some admitting they get off on a couple lunkheads knockin' eachother around, and not the hockey itself...the best part being it's always said like a "gotcha" lol.

Rempe landed several of his own and did just fine. You said he had a poor showing which seems very biased.

Your visor talk is confusing. First you say full facemask which is just dumb and false. Literally nobody removes their visor to fight, and removing helmets almost never happens anymore due to penalty. And yes, nearly every fight that happens in the NHL involves players with visors so...not sure why you're complaining.

How many enforcers wear visors?

I said next you'll see players fighting with full face masks - he wears a helmet with a visor and 'fights'.

Regardless of what the virtue signalers say, people like fighting and devastating hits and it brings fans to the games/to watch. No, it shouldn't be in the game for the sake of protecting players but yes, people love it and if there would be 30 more Rempe's, the NHL would fare far better on viewership. Until we run out of players that is 🤣

I like a good fight but he should pick his spots better imo. He shouldn't fight every goon that is trying to stay relevant....

People saying "he's going back to the AHL soon" aren't watching games. This is a 4th liner who can skate, hit, and so far has not made idiotic plays. Actually has some offensive instinct as well.

Rangers didn't bring him up because he's a fighter. The kid can play in the 4th line.
He will be a full time nhl player next year

I personally am not watching hockey to see baboons fight. This league is much better without neanderthals and with more skill expression.
Rempe seems to be an energy player not an enforcer.

Also, why not having both skill ad energy players? It's not like the fans of rough hockey like myself says "Oh I hope the skilled players are out of the league so we can get 100% wars on the ice"

The NHL needs to allow players to remove their helmets again.

Nah... then the guy gets knocked down, head off the ice and you've got some pretty severe head injuries there... the visor is an issue though.

He's made his mark and got the cult hero status.

He needs to chill out now. I feel bad for him tbh. Two black eyes and going against the leagues scariest guy because he (probably) feels like he has no choice.

People around him need to assure him that he doesn't need to feel compelled to keep this up indefinitely because he probably feels that he does. If he stops fighting for a bit and the fans turn on him, then they never really loved ya anyways kid.

To be fair he glides into the hit and explodes up, much as any good bottom 6 player does these days. Punish him because he is large? Silliness.

I am on this Rempe bandwagon. As long as he isn't a useless John Scott and actually contributes this is very good for a league that despises physicality and emotion this era.

Just remove the visor then. It takes 2 seconds.

The visor is just going to cut people's hands up during a fight. It's fine if you're 2 guys that don't fight but when you're an enforcer who made a career out of fighting you shouldn't be wearing a visor when you fight guys without one.

Visors are grandfathered in? He literally has to wear one. Players who played at least 25 NHL games before 2013 don't.

People in this thread need to educate themselves because I've seen a lot of ppl critique his visor wearing.

"He wears a full facemask" were your words but whatever.

There are maybe a handful of players in all of the NHL who don't have visors anymore so your comments are pretty much irrelevant. Martin, Lucic (not playing) and Reaves have been around long enough so they don't have to, that's basically it for "enforcers".

MacDermid, Deslauriers, Johnston, Olivier etc all wear visors. You're not really making a point here.

It's funny seeing Leafs fans who just NEED to find ways to say their guy won a fight. It's like they expected their prized enforcer to beat the kid down in glorious fashion and now have to cope with the fact that didn't happen.

There's no penalty for removing a visor.
League rules say a player must have a visor and removing his helmet for a fight is in fact a penalty.

46.6 Helmets – No player may remove his helmet prior to engaging in a fight. If he should do so, he shall be assessed a two minute minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. Helmets that come off in the course of and resulting from the altercation will not result in a penalty to either player.

I suspect the league would rule that the visor is a part of the helmet and therefore the same rule would apply to the visor.

You do realize that visors are mandatory? Its not like Rempe has an option to not wear one...

Beginning in 2013-14, under NHL Rule 9.7, “all players who have fewer than 25 games of NHL experience must wear a visor properly affixed to their helmet.” Almost a decade later, the number of NHL players competing without a visor continues to dwindle. Looking at the remaining eight players, a day will soon come when every player in the NHL is visored.
