Magic number is 4 (for both playoffs and 2nd wildcard). Win a couple more games and it doesn't matter.Hmm so is it best now that Texas sweeps Seattle? Hmm

Honestly, there's a decent chance that Orelvis is the starting 3B next year if he has a good camp.Pretty crazy that midseason last year McDaniel of ESPN had Orelvis Martinez ranked top 20 in overall prospects and that was even ahead of someone like Elly De la Cruz.
Shows just how high some industry prospect people were on this guy.
He's been very good offensively at AAA
53 Games played
.269 Batting Average
.869 OPS
11 Home Runs
47 RBI's
I doubt all 3 will be regular. Maybe bench players. They need to get stronger batsAt this point, Schneider would replace Merrifield and I think Clement could replace Espinal. Horwitz is a candidate to fill a Belt-like spot.
If the Jays lose Kiermaier, I would target either a CF or a RF (deeper for options).
Schneider would be a Biggio backup and Clement would be a utility infielder.I doubt all 3 will be regular. Maybe bench players. They need to get stronger bats
Not sure if Schneider is for real. They may have figured him out.

Yeah, he's not likely going to get a ton of playing time the next little bit until he comes out of this brutal slump, especially with Biggio and Espinal earning more playing time. It would be nice if he could just be a decent part time contributor these last few games, though. Not sure, I think we need to give it more time. Guys can go on long 0-fors, even veteran players like Springer. He went 0 for 34 earlier. It happens. I don't know if Schneider is for real or not, but we need to see him over a larger sample.

The last 7 games, he's 0-for-27 with one walk and 11 Ks, and he doesn't have the kind of track record Springer has where they can just run him out there every day and wait for him to turn it around.
Yeah I think they have a good chance of making the team but we would be lucky even with one become an everyday playerSchneider would be a Biggio backup and Clement would be a utility infielder.
Martinez would start and Horwitz would be dependant on how he does.
Let Barger, Horwitz, Martinez, Clement, Espinal all duke it out for 3B/DH at bats in the 9 hole. And then hopefully they can pick up a decent DH/3B and LF, ideally right handed.Yeah I think they have a good chance of making the team but we would be lucky even with one become an everyday player
Soto would be insane, don't even want to think of the cost
I’d trade Manoah way before Vladdy, personally. I’d do something like Manoah and Horwitz for Soto.Soto has 1 year left so wouldn’t be ridiculous. According to BTV you could trade Kirk for Soto and get another good piece back.
Or you could trade Vladdy and a piece like Barger for Soto.
Or Manoah for Soto.
Or if you wanted to go all prospects you could go Orelvis and Barriera for Soto.

Personally i'd move Varsho to center field and find a left fielder instead.Honestly, there's a decent chance that Orelvis is the starting 3B next year if he has a good camp.

His defense alone is worth 20 mil. I really don't want to think about where we were post Donaldson/pre Chapman at 3b. Those were tough years at the hot corner..Easy decision I think. You qualify him. If for whatever reason he takes it, you take 1 year of Chapman at 20 million if he goes out and gets paid elsewhere you get an extra pick.
