Through 8 it's still 10-2 Vancouver. You can still tune in to catch potentially the championship-clinching final half inning. Just go to milb.tv or the milb at bat app

Dodgers clinching the title tonight isn’t great news. They’re probably gonna rest a bunch of starters tomorrow.

They won’t rest this early. They still have a shot at the 1 seed and want to keep the 2 seed from the Brewers so they get a bye from the WC round.

Lets assume worst case with Manoah and this whole hissy fit is true and continues for the foreseeable future. What's the end to this story? They Jays let him pout either until he's gotten over it and tries to be a baseball player again or until his 2 years of options runs out. If it's the latter then what? You can't let a pitcher who hasn't even tried to pitch in 2 years be on your MLB roster so you DFA him. Nobody else can do it either so he clears. You outright him to the minors where he continues to pout until he can become a milb free agent in what 4 or 5 years?

Realistically if he ever wants to see a MLB roster again he has to suck it up and try to figure it out in the minors. I would assume by the time next February comes that realization will come to him and he'll be in Spring Training trying to earn a job. I don't think he has any real trade value at this point. It's minimal at best. For what you'd get back I don't think you can let him "win" and move on. He's gotta learn the lesson here I think.
I'm really pissed off with Manoah. Had he kept going in AAA, he could have potentially been a sub if someone falls off in the rotation, like potentially Kikuchi. Or if someone gets hurt, he could have subbed in for a starter, had he remain stretched out. They need to have patience with him because he's still just a kid. In my early 20's I also had an ego. But he needs a mindset shift and he has to make it about the team, not only him. If he acted like this in the military, he would be kicked out. This situation is never going to get fixed as long as he is putting the blame on the Jays management and not him self. He needs to be accountable, or it's going to be hard to repair this relationship. He will have a lot of time in the offseason to reflect and see the full 360 view and hopefully come to the realization he needs to be better.

I think the majority of Jays fans are pissed off at Manoah. We had such high expectations for him to succeed this year but he fell of the wagon badly.

Mechanics, weight, attitude, unwillingness to learn, etc. we expected much better from him..

I really hope he digs deep this off season and finds himself

Rested Betts, Freeman, Muncy and Smith today. ;)

Good call. Weird time to rest. They have the Tigers at home tomorrow. So after tonights game they should be home by midnight and then have a 7pm PST game tomorrow vs the Tigers.

Anyways, doesnt look like it is hurting much. Dodgers up 4-0

If you told me this 3 days ago, I would laugh in your face.

This is one of the strangest weeks I've ever seen following a sports team.

The Jays get swept in a 4-game series against their biggest playoff rival ... and at the end of the week, it doesn't even really matter. Texas 4-3 in their last 7, Toronto 3-4, Seattle 2-5.

The team had maybe their most disastrous regular season series since 1987, and actually are in a better playoff position today than they were last Sunday. Absolutely nuts.
