We have the least amount of regulation wins in the entire league. Every power ranking has us bottom 5.

We are thin on offensive talent and lost Dach for the year and Newhook for 3 months. Monahan will be traded at some point.

There's no way we aren't picking where we need to pick this year. Our 5 on 5 save percentage is also beyond unsustainable.

Compared to last year, we are already two points behind where we were after 24 games and we ended up bottom five.

Last year we had Dach, Anderson scored over 20, plugs like Hoffman/Drouin still managed 0.5 PPG and RHP was scoring at a 30 goal pace. We have Caufield, but like you noted we are very thin on offensive talent.

Once Monahan gets traded, we might end up with Caufield/Suzuki/Matheson as the only guys who end the season on the team with over 30 points unless Guhle or Barron keep up their current pace.

I don't think we are better than we were the last two years when you consider the injuries to Dach and Newhook.

All this to say; there's nothing to worry about - there's literally nothing that we can point to statistically and quality of team that insinuates the Habs will pick outside of the top 10 and I'd argue the top 8 of the draft.

Great. Can't wait till our goaltending and inability to trade away assets in a timely way leave us with another ok player instead of an elite one.

I don't even know how the habs manage to win, it feels like the puck is in our zone most of the game and then you look at the score and we are in the lead. We are way worse than our record, but I guess we'll have to hopefully catch lightning drafting 12-13th.

Hopefully they draft around 15. Got Caufield and Guhle middle of the first so it seems like a good spot for them

I look at the schedule and all I see is shit/mid teams, the talent in this league is so diluted it's embarrassing.

No wonder we can't even tank properly with an injury riddled crap lineup, there's like 5 good teams in the entire NHL. Let's expand some more though, makes sense.

It’s a business not a circle jerk for the die hard fanbase who contribute to minimal revenue intake.

And business is best when there’s strong league wide parity with optics of hope for playoff contention in latter half of a season…

There was no way they were losing to Seattle.

I predict a 1-1-1 week, so if we can drop to the Kings and Sabres (will be tough).. we would be down a pt less than projected this week, but we can easily go 2-1-0.

Haven't you been arguing that we should expect a top 5 or top 8 pick?

Bad teams don't always win against other bad teams.

Habs are on track to draft 11th.

Yes and we will still pick in the top 8.

Seattle is terrible and didn't have Schwartz or Burakovsky this game, so a team thin on offensive talent was already too thin.

anyone knows our record last year compared to today ? is it a big difference because i remember us having a hot start before Monahan went down

Slightly better at 12-11-2 after 25 games, so one point better than we are now at 11-11-3.

Last year they put in some good work with a 1-9-1 stretch starting Dec 14, that's not going to happen again this year.

Monty is killing our tank.....

In his last 5 games, he's sporting a .927 SV pct. That's just too high.

Gotta play Jake Allen more often.

Not familiar with Marty and this management yet? They want to win at all costs for the culture.

There is no tank and nothing to suggest there is one. If there were, they'd be selling players. The tank is a HF made up fantasy.

They've sold players two years in a row and will sell players again this year.
Selling at the deadline is not tanking. You sell either in the off season before the season starts, or at the start of the season, so you can get the highest pick possible. What they are doing is a "player turnover" for a lack of term and inserting the kids as they go.

We acquired a pick to take on salary, got back two players who we immediately turned into tradeable assets and picks.. how is that not selling in the Summer? We also traded Edmundson, another player we sold in the Summer. We moved out Hoffman and Pitlick as well in the transaction.

Everything we are doing is in line with a tanking/rebuilding team.
