Hello old friend...didn't want to say hi so soon but the injuries to Dach and Guhle forced me to say hi again...

So, do we like Berkly Catton? Who's the consensus pick for our pick so we can make sure we know he won't be drafted. Focus on Euro kids only. Thank you

How many losses do we need to guarantee last overall? I only see Arizona as our competition. The others have gotten better from last year.

NGL, after giving the upcoming 2023-2024 cup champs a run for their money and then beating Chicago, I had some hope for this season. Losing Dach and Guhle, getting trashed yesterday and Laval looking to be 0-3, I’m already kind of bummed out and it’s only a week into the season…

Seattle is surprisingly having a terrible start with 0-3-1
Nashville is expected to be terrible and they are 1-3-0
Sharks are going nowehere and they already are 0-2-1

Then there's they clown show Arizona that is always there lurking in the bottom,
Chicago is not expected to anywhere else than bottom 5
Philladelphie, Anaheim and Columbus might also be closer to the bottom of the league.

They could too suffer injuries that made them worst, Tampa is not having a great start without Vasilevsky.

Washington will be there. Their old guys seem done. They lost Eller up the middle who was the backbone of their defensive play. Backstrom's got nothing left after a million injuries. Kuznetsov wants out and isn't putting in the effort. Ovi should have left if he wanted the record (granted he'll score 30 goals in 15 games randomly). Oshie has been steadily declining for years. Their two big off-season acquisitions are on LTIR.

Nah... Philly got Torts no? He'll squeeze every single ounce of effort out of them. They will be like habs last year... winning a bunch of useless points to get themselves out of top 3 contention.
Flyers lost Provorov, Hayes, JVR, DeAngelo, Bellows but added Couturier, Atkinson, Hathaway, Poehling, Walker and 4 youngsters Foerster, Zamula, Brink, Andrae.
They are harder to handicap with so many changes.
Habs have what 2-3 new faces?

Adding a high offensive talent (Celebrini/Eiserman/Demidov) would really be the last piece needed for this team to be a true contender in a couple of years

Caufield - Suzuki - Dach
Slafkovsky - Celebrini - Newhook
Farrell - Beck - Roy
RHP - Davidson/Kapanen - Xhekaj/Heineman

Hutson - Reinbacher
Guhle - Mailloux
Xhekaj - Engstrom

Imagine the Ducharme year how pathetic it was
Imagine last season how pathetic it was
Imagine this season with the same lineup minus Newhook and Pearson , things are still completely out of touch and nothing is fixed or getting fixed.

We just realized that our coaching staff is vastly overrated
The prospects aint looking That crazy

And during those 2 years, We picked the worst player in the top 5 with our first overall.
And Busar
Then on the huge tanking season we barely traded anyone to get better odds at Franchise player in Bedard to end up with another f***ing defenseman who got injured already.

Our goalie situation is even worse.
Our defensive squad blows. The right side is literally 3 6/7th dman in the NHL.
Our bottom 6 is worse than the early 2000s
Our top 6 lack wingers and consistency.
Our head scouts is a friend of Bergevin and a Moron that butchered the NYR in Bobrov.

The only positive is that Ylonen played an average game and we are now crying to play him in the top 6.

Or Pezetta because he got into 2 fights which none of it is related to win a game.

We have the smoothest schedule of the NHL in October and the team almost threw against Chicago.

" just wait until Struble, Barron , Mailloux , Hutson , Popcorn , Slaf , Ylonen , Farrell and Roy are all ready , we gonna be dangerous to play against.

Meanwhile *crickets*

Man it's hard to love a team that can't build anything. It just shows how bad Carey Price was carrying this franchise.

Do we need to rebuild the current rebuild?

S
I would consider pushing back our window if Suzuki doesn't hit 80 pts this year. If he has another 60ish pts, we are going to have to trade him for youth. 2019 draftees and younger.... not until we pick a #1C will we have any chance at anything, it's moot.. Dach cannot be counted on, poor kid but if Im Hugo I ship him out next year at the TDL..

I've been saying this since last season...watch out for Crapitals. Bottom 5 maybe worse.
Sharks, Preds, CBJ and Yotes probably round it out.

We will finish 9th cause we can't have nice things.

+1

I was already there after the Dach news though.

We'll select a big soft Euro who is great at interviews and is 100% non-threatening and non-toxic.

people need to stop making those stupid 4 years forward roster

75% of those players will probably not be in the nhl or in this team.

Yup. This.

I can't remember the last time I posted a lineup, even much less a future lineup. Must be an age and experience thing? There comes a point when we realize what you wrote and figure just how pointless it is.

This team need high end talent. We have good players but nothing high end. I'm all for the tank but the team can't draft or develop properly so...

The pace of games has really brought out the pessimism. Give it a few more games and maybe we’ll see some good stuff.

I was certainly disappointed to see so few prospects graduate but with injuries come opportunities for prospects… unlike last year where career AHLers came in and stole points left and right.

It looked good on paper before the season started and then injuries Heineman Reinbacher and etc , then habs started playing the same hockey as the last 2 seasons. I don'T know what I expected since we have the same exact roster.

Atleast Newhook is looking sharp and Pearson is giving us a value for the TDL

It doesn't take age and experience be a defeatist, pessimistic person and think almost everything is pointless. It's a frame of mind.

On the point that future lineups take into account players that won't been this teams accurate. 75% of the players being no longer on this team is a bit high, IMO.

I'd say 47.625%.

I went a bit too far with the 75% but I meant the way people project the player .

Like X player is guaranteed a top 2 def or a top 6 forward.
Nobody knows , they can make the roster and they could be making it on the 4th line and not the top 6 , my example was not well explained
