Reinbacher, Hutson, Mailloux, Roy

Gorton said they expect Engstrom to come over at the end of the season.

I wouldn't say 100% that Hutson turns pro, with Eiserman incoming next year and the fact he still has a lot of work to do physically, it wouldn't be a bad thing if that's the case but we'll see what kind of season he has.

Habs are so going to end up picking a dmen again if they don't win the lottery.
It depends where they draft. Top 3 there's no chance they draft a dman. If they draft 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th it could make sense to draft one of the RHD like Silayev, Levshunov or Mews even though Catton looks good so 4th probably not. Too soon to tell obviously next year top 10 will be a bit like 2023 there will be 3 guys above the rest and after that some very good ones but not as good.

Numbers from the last two seasons included Price. Weber too, before getting traded.
Two years ago he was not retired yet he actually played 5 games. Last year it was not 120% clear he was and he was still around the team so fine. This year it's crystal clear his career is over and he's not with the team anymore in any shape or form. It's over time to move on he's not an injured player if it was not for his contract he would have officially retired.

Okay that makes sense to me, I misunderstood. I thought highly of Roy too. I think he’ll have a good season in the AHL until he’s called up.
Impossible to be wrong with that prediction. Once he is called up to Montreal, his production in the AHL will surely nose-dive. ;)

I mean I expect he will look good in the AHL and merit a call-up! I’m long on $Roy!

I understood. I was kidding.

I also expect Roy to get call-up after prolonged strong play in the AHL, especially as the injury bug begins to hit the lineup, both in Montreal and in Laval. Hell,I was sure he would get a call-up by trade deadline, even if there were no significant injuries to mention.

This should make it easier for the call-up.

Mailloux and Roy are not elite prospects, come on.
Not even "very good" prospects. Roy tops out as a third line specialist if he realizes his potential, and Mailloux has far too many holes in his game, and has lost too many games critical to his maturation, to be considered "very good," even if I am rather high on him.

maybe there plan from the start was to be a heap of garbage for 4-5 years with limited improvement, pick up projects early, fill the D, still suck enough so coming into the 3-5 years you can pick up offensive talent on your way up

wishful thinking :help:
