Ottawa is downright horrendous.

How can they be this bad?

I still think there's a >50% chance we finish below them, but I didn't think it would be this much of a "fight".

Ottawa could draft Celebrini and McKenna it won't make a difference.
You aren’t wrong.

It speaks volumes to something - not sure what it is yet. Is that CHarachter that Bergevin was always mumbling about?

Because on paper, they should be much much better than us.

It is more that if you are a loser org and you keep losing, you stay losing.

It's why Kent and Gorton are trying to balance the line as delicately as they can.

Canes trade for Guenztal!
But he won't be there in time for game.
So Habs will win 5-1.

I understand what HuGo are trying to do, but I think they overestimate the risk of becoming a perpetual bottom dweller and underestimate the risk of becoming perpetually mid.
Very good post. The thoery of losing culture is bullshit and the oilers may prove it this year. There are 32 teams and winning 1 cup every ten years is the aim. Welcome to the real world.

There are good examples and bad examples. Oilers are a bad example as they have 2 top 5 players in the league, one potentially being a top 5 player all time when he's done his career. A good example that you could've used is Florida finally being a winning cultured team after years of never winning a playoff series. Personally I think it has more to do with team building but counter points to that perspective would be a team like Buffalo or even Ottawa who on paper are teams built to do better but have a culture of losing that they can't shake

Meh I don’t think we need to worry about tanking too much, think all the pieces are pretty much in place.

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Newhook-Dach-Roy
Heineman-Beck-RHP

Hutson-Reinbacher
Guhle-Mailloux
Xhekaj

Monty/Fowler

That’s the core
