Totally forgot Wideman was on the team. Is he injured or scratched?

Injured. Back injury. If he was on LTIR, I would say that Hughes convinced him to go LTIRetirement. There was no room anymore for him in organization. He spent the early part of the season rehabilitating in St. Louis (his home), but is back in Montreal now. Maybe he plays after trade deadline when roster limits are off.

Well, Ottawa can get within 2 pts of Montreal with win @ Florida. I'm not really expecting it though. Florida is a good team.

Islanders @ Pens we just need Pittsburgh to put up a point. They have 3 games in hand.

Ditto. Devils @ Caps. A point from Washington is helpful. They have 2 games in hand.
Also Kings-Jackets. A Columbus win puts them 6 pts back of the Habs.

Looking at how it is currently playing out, I am thinking we will end in the top 5, passing OTT & ARI.
At least that's what I am hoping for, for a chance at Lindstrom or Demidov.

Pretty sure they will tank for it.

Who do you think the top4 would draft if it stayed that way ?

CHI --> Celebrini
SJ --> Demidov ?
ANA --> Levshunov ?
CBJ: Eiserman ?
Chicago winning the lottery will be horrible. They already got Bedard last year. Hope Habs or SJ win the lottery.

I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this post but the team that deserves the pick the most because they're such a sorry excuse that never progresses is the senators. But hope they don't get it

Pens lose in OT. Islanders now 8 pts up, so unless they go on a 5 game losing streak, we don't need to worry about them anymore.

Pittsburgh is now 4 pts up with 2 games in hand. Like Ottawa, they'll have 3 games in hand after tomorrow night.

Washington trashed New Jersey, 6-2, so Caps are now 6 pts up with a game in hand. NJD are 8 pts up. We're starting to see some good separation now.

The best case scenario outside of us winning the lottery, is a team that would go forward anyways.. so Columbus winning would be preferred to a Chicago or a San Jose.

Columbus winning means there's one less org likely to take Lindstrom ahead of us.

Columbus would take Celebrini
Chicago would take Silayev
San Jose would take Levshunov

And if we pick at 5 that means one of Lindstrom or Demidov are there.

I don't put any value in games in hand. How many games in hand did the field have on Florida last season about this time. :help:
Habs fans were licking their chops thinking about that pick.

Does Lidstrom have the skill to go that high? He obviously has the size and strength but he’s another guy who seems to have come from nowhere and is now ranked high.

His stats are great but what’s the opposition like?

Almost a goal a game in the WHL before he hurt his hand. He's got skill, he's a great skater for his size. He is like Iginla in the way that he's added more to his game throughout the year

He's not more skilled than Demidov but he's playing center in the WHL and that combo of size speed and skill is rare so you know the chances he's second forward off the board is really high.

We would also be able to add another small skill guy to the top 6 if you've got Slafkovsky Dach Lindstrom. That's more than enough beef to insulate another Caufield like guy.
