All teams are not ready a few games a year. The bad teams lose those games. The good team can manage to win a few of them.

I've always said the difference between a good team and a bad team is good teams win games they deserve to lose while bad teams lose games they deserve to win. All teams have ups and downs and look very good and very bad a few games a year. But as we say in french "le crème remonte toujours sur la surface".

When we had Price he was able to win those games where the team should not show up. That's what elite talent does. Can win games without playing that well.

I think we're going to win tonight, so these are the consequences of that:

Buffalo (who are at home) will have to beat LAK otherwise Montreal moves 4 pts up on Sabres, who will have one game in hand.

Ottawa is hosting CBJ, which should be an easy win for Ottawa, but it's actually better if CBJ wins in OT. Senaturds have 4 games in hand on Montreal & CBJ has one. 3 pointer here, please. Sens are 6 pts back. CBJ 8 pts.

Avs @ Caps: Washington is 4 pts up, but if they lose & Montreal wins, it's back to 2 pts. Caps have a game in hand. A Colorado win does move them 3 pts up on Winnipeg, but the Jets will hold 4 games in hand.

Kraken @ NYI: Montreal will tie Seattle in points with a win if Seattle loses again. Seattle will stay ahead based on RW tie breaker. Both teams have played the same amount of games. Isles are 6 pts up on Montreal.

NJD @ NASH: Both teams are 6 pts up on Montreal. A 3 pt game would be sweet.

Carolina @ Dallas: A Carolina win ties them in points with Winnipeg, but Jets hold 2 games in hand. We could use a 3 pt game here, as Dallas is only 3 pts up on Jets, and Winnipeg will hold 3 games in hand on them too. Winnipeg really needs to play more games.

This actually ended up being a pretty good night. With Montreal winning, we needed everyone else to win, and they did. We even got a 3 pt game in Seattle-NYI with a Kraken win!

Buffalo, Ottawa, Seattle all won. Only Washington lost.

We do jump over idle Arizona into #8 spot, 2 pts up, but Coyotes have 2 games in hand. We also move to within a point of Minnesota & Pittsburgh. Both of whom were also idle tonight, but Wild have a game in hand & Pens 4 games in hand, respectively.

We're now 2 pts back of Washington, who have a game in hand, and we remain 2 pts back of Seattle.

We have a tough game coming up against the Rangers, and Saturday Washington is in Montreal. We'll see what happens.

Definitely need that Minnesota @ Arizona game to go to OT with an Arizona win, although a Minnesota OT/SO win isn't that bad either.

Panthers are @ Penguins. Pens are only a point up on Montreal, but have 4 games in hand. I expect a loss tonight by Pittsburgh, unfortunately.

Jets host SJS. Winnipeg will win that game. They'll jump Vegas, and jump from #25 draft spot to #26.
