Yes but in 3 years Lidstrom is that so coveter big 1C that is near impossible to trade for.

I didn't realize eaiserman played C as well..
That I agree. I'd also take Lindstrom above Catton but let's not act like Lindstrom is ready to be a play driver in the NHL. He also has three of the WHL's best playmakers (Oasiz, McKenna and Basha) at his side, so you kinda wish at some point in the WHL he'll get to be the main puck distributor and not just the shooter, which he clearly won't be this year on his stacked team.

With the way things are going, how awful this team is on paper and the tough schedule, we have a shot at finishing bottom 5 maybe even 4 if Colombus can get on a hot streak
as long as the new forwards continue to contribute, get points (esp Slaf) then finishing bottom 5 is a perfect way to conclude tank 3.0.

next year we can start focusing on wild card.

I don;t like losing 7-2.. but ideally we should be losing 4-3 (in reg) with pnts from slaf, CC, newhook, etc... I'd liek to see the D start learning what Monty requires for shooting lanes. and simply practicing each game on refining their reads.

If we can somehow go 1-2 this week.. it'd be a huge boon for the tank.

Preferably beat the Ducks and lose to the Rangers and Capitals. We can't catch the Ducks but Capitals are dangerously close.
Would be juuuust great if Buffalo and Ottawa would pass us finally too
Staying at/near 5th overall as we etch closer to the end would be just fine with me

I'm hoping for a 0-3 week!! The Ducks are capable of coming in here and winning!! I'm assuming Primeau plays tomorrow

Ottawa looks like a different team with Pinto there. I can see them passing us. I don't have much hope for Buffalo, though. The Coyotes have lost 5 straight as well. Ducks, Hawks, Sharks and Jackets are just too far ahead (behind).

Buffalo is the letdown of the century. It’s amazing how bad they are year in year out.
Buffalo and Ottawa are like.. 3-4 years ahead of us in their respective rebuilds, basically should be getting out of it and seeing what the fruits of their labour's look like...

And they are 'behind' us in the standings..

It is beyond embarrassing , I definitely feel bad for Buffalo, it just may never click for them.. ever, amazingly
But Ottawa..? *deep breath* LOOOOOOOOOL
eat **** and sufferrrrrrr foreverrrrrrr lmao

Couldn’t agree more.

Tell you the truth, it’s beyond comprehension. They (both teams) hit home runs with high picks and have a pretty big commitment moneywise to home grown talent. It’s basically what you want to see in a rebuild but they didn’t make any improvements where it counts; on the ice.

It’s also kind of worrying because it’s a way that rebuilds from the bottom can go. I just don’t want to be like them and toil away forever…

Three teams play their games in hand tonight:

Seattle @ NJD: a point would be nice. Kraken are only 2 points up on Montreal. The 2 teams will be tied in games played after tonight.

Coyotes @ Flyers: Arizona has 2 games in hand on Montreal. They're only one point up, so 2 pts is preferable, but I'll be ok with one point.

Minnesota @ Vegas: Wild is one point up with one game in hand. I don't expect much against Vegas. Again, 2 points is preferable, but considering the opposition one point would be great.

Calgary @ NYR: NYR are only 2 pts up on the Jets & Winnipeg holds 2 games in hand, which will be 3 after tonight. Looking for a win from New York tonight, as they're playing at home.

Double shift;

Anderson-Dvorak-Gallagher :pullhair:

Play as a no1;

Jake aLLen 🚨

Give E&J Burke spirit to the rest of the team;

That's the Habs record on their home ice. One of the 5 worst in the whole league. They are playing above .500 on the road. Can someone explain that to me ? How come they are so unprepared to play in front of their fans ? How come they offer a so lousy effort ?

Perhaps there is a psychological aspect to it, perhaps there's someone who can provide stats on how many back-to-backs are responsible for this discrepancy, I dunno.

My guess? Hockey is a stupid sport that makes absolutely no sense.

The answer is this:

The Canadiens are not a good team, with little depth, and erratic play by many young players.

They empty the tank the night before to compete and try to win, they have nothing left in the tank in the second game and fare far worse because of it.

They were falling off before the all-star break, had the all-star break, had some admirable performances.. but as the season drags on, they empty the tank to stay in games, the worse it is going to get.

Coaching

Unfortunately his contract goes to 25-26. No one will take him.

Not a chance.the only reason they are even close to .500 is coaching.
The only reason they are not over .500 is because of the coach too juggling badly with his goalies, and having no good defensive game plans at all.

A bad record at home is very often a sign of deficient coaching and/or preparation. They are at home, they should have all the time available on the schedule to prepare. There is no travelling, no hotel, plane, and other annoying details to get away from. I think the record away is rather indicative that the team has some pretty bad habits and those get justified on the road, while at home there is a malaise...
