I know Biz is right because that's what any player in Dahlin's position would do. His agent would not be doing his job if he didn't help convey some version of this message. But I understand that it's comforting to just assume Biz is lying.

His comments directly - 'tis not comfort in thinking Biz is full of it in this instance, it's that Dahlin's own response says it's not correct.

Canes beat any offer unless a team offers top-6 players. Svechnikov, Morrow, 2026 first round pick, 2026 third round pick, 2028 first round pick, 2028 third round pick.
That won’t help Buffalo. They have two LHD at almost 20 million and defensemen cap at 32 million. They need to move cap over from LHD to the RHD and from defensemen to their forward group.

Here is Dahlin's direct quote on his chat with Adams.

We had a real good discussion. We were very honest with each other. Stuff has to change. That’s how it is. I absolutely hate losing.

No, he did not ask for a trade, but "stuff has to change" and "that's how it is" only make sense in the context of leaving the team, which in his case, means a trade. Logic can be tough, I know.

Can the Sabres really go that much farther backwards though?
I see what you're saying, but any step that isn't forward is basically a step backwards here. It's unacceptable.

"Stuff has to change..." or else I am asking for a trade.

"Stuff has to change..." in order to become a winning team.

He was just talking about the fact that he doesn't like losing right before this and denying he said anything about leaving, so the most logical interpretation is that he is saying the latter, not the former.

There's probably a middle area here. His response is "I never said I want out", but that doesn't mean he didn't go to the GM and tell them things need to change and if they don't, his future is here is uncertain. I'm sure they made a bigger deal than what actually took place, assuming a conversation was had.

Scott Morrow is RD. He's no Dahlin but projects as a better Torey Krug (game-wise not height-wise, Morrow is 6'3). Svechnikov is a forward and should help with play-driving and I feel like he would thrive in a system that doesn't require a lot of back-checking. He is a good forechecker but is having trouble finishing and turns the puck over too much. However, I believe on the right team he could be a really good player.

Not necessarily, Dahlin may look to go around Adams straight to Pegula. Essentially, fix this f***ing team you numbskull. I do genuinely believe he wants to stay here and play his whole career here. He just wants to get the team moving forward and if Adams won't he'll go up the chain if need be.

My mistake, you are right. This trade would actually work.

Yep. It's the tacit or implicit threat of asking for a trade if things don't change. Things have to change... (or else). We all know it's implied even if the or else hasn't been said out loud yet.

It's confirmed that Dahlin and Adams met and discussed the future of the team. And that Dahlin made it clear that losing is not an option.

"I absolutely hate losing, and that's not part of who I want to be. Stuff has to change"

That's what players say to the press a year or 2 years before they ask for a trade after nothing has changed.

Bizonette is such a little bitch/punk at times.

He's like a man child.

Thank you for your service with the traveler douches however.

And, thank you Fox News for this tweet that I still laugh at.

To be clear on what's happened here.

Biz said Dahlin went to management and said he didn't like the way things were going and that if they don't change he wants out.

Dahlin came out and vehemently denied that he wants out. This is not what Biz said. Biz never said Dahlin wants out now. Biz said if things don't change he will want out.

... And then Dahlin went on to confirm everything Biz said about how he was feeling, and that he met with management and discussed this.

Kinda sounds like Dahlin just accidentally confirmed things, to be honest.

What would it take to save this stud from purgatory. Do you believe Biz? He looked really good at 4 Nations and I'm sure teams would be lining up to add him.

24 years old. Year 1 of a 8 year 11 Million AAV deal.

Could Dahlin force Buffalo's hand and make it get ugly?

"IF things dont change". Empty threat.

Could Dahlin force Buffalo's hand and make it get ugly?
He could choose to stay home and get suspended but those missed years will be added to his contract.

I'm always curious when people make comments like this. Not about Biz specifically, but about not believing what someone is reporting.

What does it mean exactly? Do you think that Biz is blatantly lying and making something up? Do you think there is some truth and he is exaggerating and filling in gaps? Or do you think he believes he is telling the truth but the person who delivered the news to him is lying?

I see reports or comments from either analysts, insiders, etc --- "I don't believe anything he says." Mirtle, Pagnotta, etc. The idea that they're just straight up lying to me is more outlandish. Maybe they're misinformed and a source is playing with them?
Biz has admitted he puts out some stuff just for fun. This seems like one of those times. If it was true I’d feel terrible (more than I already do) for Sabers fans.

False. It was a meeting that was already made public that the 2 had before deadline. It wasn't about Dahlin approaching Adams.

And Dahlin specifically said he made no mention of the word leave or trade. Which Biz specifically said he said.

Nothing was confirmed

Why are people mad at Biz? Hes just talking how people talk. Theres obviously some truth to it.

If things dont change Dahlin will want out.

Start firing up the trade machines because things arent changing in Buffalo anytime soon. They really have to go overspend for Pettersson and take a chance.
