Well the hope was something was going to happen in Florida (like Bobrov continuing his decent in hell) and Florida would have been bottom 10 this year or next. I think that ship has sailed a long time ago.

They have 4 UFA to sign. Reinhart, Montour, Forsling et OEL. All other UFA are irrelevant and can be replaced by similar contract players.

They will have around 16 millions to resign those players. If they are intelligent they'll just let Reinhart go. They can replace him on the UFA market by a 4-5 millions player and they have Lundell ready to take more TOI. I like Lundell a lot kids have a high ceiling and will be 22.

That leaves around 11 millions to sign 3 dmen. I'd let Montour go personally and would try to secure OEL and Forsling that should let enough money to find a reliable guy to complete the defense.

Unless Bobrov goes MIA next season they are not in trouble.

yeah, I have learned my lesson last season... hoping for Florida to fail and finish bottom 10 is a fools game..

so I guess the only hope for a decent pick in this trade is to root for Calgary to not suck too much and finish 11th next year.

really, all the trade proposals should be made with Florida 1rd 25 and not Calgary as that is the like 90% range of happening... oh well we can dream I guess lol

Pretty much that, That's would be awesome. Would not be surprised to see us take a leap next season and draft somewhere in the 12th - 14th range. Having an extra 1tth overall pick from Calgary would help us a lot. You can still find good players at this rank. I would not trade that pick before we know what we have unless the return is a "can't say no" return. i.e. that pick would not be available for a Newhook until the condition has been decided.

I totally agree! still great players at that range if you choose right.

I think if everyone is healthy and we get some luck in this draft... we should be middle of the pack at minimum next year... that, with some decent progression from the kids.. who knows... maybe we're sniffing a wild card spot (unlikely but not impossible). so Calgary finishing 11th would be great for the situation.

Hopefully one of Helenius, Buium drop to the 10-12 range, where we are likely going to draft at that point... :help:

If we can trade Monahan we will be top 8.

If we also trade Savard we will be top 5.

If we also trade Gallagher or Evans we will be top 3.

....if we trade Armia we will be picking Celebrini...o_O
