I doubt that very much

I don't watch them that much but superb goaltending sounds over the top as I can't say I have been too impresses with any of the goalies though I also can't say I pay much attention to them. They seem to be doing good but their #'s don't seem impressive for superb.

You should expect that some will progress and some won't. I never said it's not a normal trajectory of a rebuild as I know it is just as I know you can't predict when they will gel into a winning team just that as of today I am not impressed at all with the talent they have. They could easily surprise but it could also be a long road ahead.

Since we have 2 games in hand, by win % we are .011% above the sabers for now.

The Wild beating NYI would be cool, same for the Blues over the Flyers.

Yes, we hold the tie breaker, but Sabres are actually one point up on Montreal. A loss to Colorado tonight in regulation would be extremely helpful.

Sabres next game is Wednesday vs Hawks, while Montreal has New Jersey same night. Hoping for a 3 pt difference between 2 teams by Wednesday night.

I've been waiting till this point in the year before really committing to the tank watch.

I approached this year as a "as long as the kids improve and do good, then I'm happy win or lose" kind of season.

But, I feel it's now time to get excited for some regulation losses! as long as Slaf continues to improve at an exponentially good rate, Suzuki and Caufield get their points ... I hope we can drop to 5th in good time... today is shaping up to be a good tank day!

come on Columbus!

I keep hoping for a top draft pick, but then I don't have much faither in the team to draft the right guy anyways so I just buy more crypto and take it on the chin, like a man

so, as I read this ... there is no way flordia is finishing bottom 10 this year which means their pick goes to Flyers.

which then means Calgary will get Florida 1st round pick in 25.

so that's the only part of the flow chart that matters at this point...

so the only way we get Calgary top 10 pick next year is if Florida finishes bottom 10 next year also.... so that means more than likely (alot more than likey) were getting Florida's 2025 pick...

that's alot less exciting tbh... unless I missed something? any one else have a take on this?

Yeah, it's practically impossible for the habs to pick 2nd overall with the pick that is coming back.

It depends. Florida players NEVER get hurt so maybe next year is the year they get mangled. And most of them are all playing far over their talent level. If they sink back to anywhere near normal there is a chance. Also Boob is an old man. he could fade anytime.

I'm puzzled people are still discussing this the hot takes here are crazy.

Florida will not finish bottom 10 this year. They wont finish bottom 10 next years. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN LIKE BOSTON WAS NEVER GOING TO CRUMBLE THIS SEASON. Enough with the fantasy.

The pick will either be the Florida 1st 2025 if Calgary draft top 10 or the Calgary pick 2025 if Calgary is not top 10 (cause Calgary will draft higher than Florida).

THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN 99.99% SURE.

Best case scenario is Calgary draft 11th in 2025 which would give us a good pick.

They wont finish bottom 10. Looks at the bottom 10 right now wont happen.

I never really read through the detail until now... just saw some posts about how the 25 Calgary pick is likely to be a high pick and we could get it ...blah blah blah... now, I feel a little betrayed lol

.. i guess that's on me for not doing my own reading lol

Well the hope was something was going to happen in Florida (like Bobrov continuing his decent in hell) and Florida would have been bottom 10 this year or next. I think that ship has sailed a long time ago.

They have 4 UFA to sign. Reinhart, Montour, Forsling et OEL. All other UFA are irrelevant and can be replaced by similar contract players.

They will have around 16 millions to resign those players. If they are intelligent they'll just let Reinhart go. They can replace him on the UFA market by a 4-5 millions player and they have Lundell ready to take more TOI. I like Lundell a lot kids have a high ceiling and will be 22.

That leaves around 11 millions to sign 3 dmen. I'd let Montour go personally and would try to secure OEL and Forsling that should let enough money to find a reliable guy to complete the defense.

Unless Bobrov goes MIA next season they are not in trouble.
