I bet he signs tomorrow
If DZ couldn't hold out being DZ after his solid .5PPG season, Step isn't going to be able to do ****. 2.55 for DZ, Step will deal with 2.75-3.
The only question i have is whether or not Step is being low balled. We all thought Zucc would get 1.75. Zucc had arb too.
Stepan is a significantly better player than Del Zotto IMO. He's not a head case at all at any time. Smart in the defensive end--plays in all situations. Just a better all around player.

I'll take that bet.
Its ludicrous to compare stepan with DZ, Dubinsky, or Anisimov. He has about the same points in 3 years as those two combined.
His Production has went up every season, Most reliable 2 way center on team.
everyone on here uses the small sample size against him. What more do you guys want as a sample size. coming in as a 19 year old making the big club and never missing a game(healthy scratch, Injury) in 3 years and thats with Torts who has a track record for mistreating kids. Last year he was a legit #1 center. Year before a legit #2
He will take a 2 year bridge deal thats not the issue.
But it needs to be 3 - 3.5 mill per and he is only being offered 2.6 per right now.
Kadri has been offered 2.9 per and is asking for 3.5.
They are not even real comparables they had similar stats last year but that is the 1st real year kadri even played in NHL.
Derek has been doing consistently and is way better as a 2 way player.
He is projected by most to center the 1st line on the US olympic team they need to get him signed and in camp.
If you dont think he is a # 1 center thats fine. He is not asking for 1st line center money.
He wants to be paid like his comparables and thats it.
2 yr bridge at 3.2 per gets this done and he gets paid like a 4-6 forward. pretty fair I think
