Off season priorities:
1. Resign Semien, Ray, Matz (at very least qualify them)
2. Tender Richards, Cimber
IF resigning our own fails look at following free agents:
INF: Seager (3B), Chris Taylor (2B), Correa (SS,3B, 2B)
SP: Syndergaard, Jon Gray, Eduardo Rodriguez
RP: Familia, Betances, Archie Bradley
Trades pending free agency in order:
1. Chapman from A's
2. Donaldson from Twins
3. Ramirez from Indians
There's a better chance of me making the MLB next year than JD or any former BJ player from 15-16 teams coming back...to get better in the future we gotta move on from the past fellas!Off season priorities:

Seriously, for those who are wanting a WS team, I have no clue why posters look to the past for overpaid players in steep decline. It's a mind bogglingly stupid waste of resources.
Man imagine McHugh in Thornton's spot? We would actually have the potential to come back in games.Hard no on JD for me. I was okay with it until I realized that he makes 21M (and put up the same WAR as Espinal). Even if you think Espinal's production is unsustainable, there are names that you could get that make more sense (Seagar from Seattle or JD Davis from NYM who they are always trying to upgrade on).
For RP, I really want McHugh.
Not specifically, but any resources spent on overpaid declining players, especially with term. JD would be an example. Nostalgia aside, it's a bad baseball decision. Are you talking about Donaldson?

No, but it doesn't make for a better, more financially flexible team. Which was the whole point, I thought. As long as the team itself doesn't do it, does it matter what fans blather about online?
Maybe but the counter argument is that Donaldson didnt really decline this season and if anything had a very good season but got super unlucky.
He finished 4th in the entire MLB in Avg exit velocity behind only Vladdy, Aaron Judge and Mike Stanton.
He hit the ball more consistently hard than guys like Ohtani, Juan Soto, Tatis Jr and Devers.
He also ranked top 10 in other statcast hitting statistics.
Not saying we should necessarily trade for him but he definitely still looks like he's a quality hitter.
He was also by far the worst defensive 3b in baseball (worse than Biggio).
Agreed people who want Stroman and Donaldson back need get nostalgia out of their a** neither player is ever going to be a blue Jay again and if they are then this team just took a major step back.Seriously, for those who are wanting a WS team, I have no clue why posters look to the past for overpaid players in steep decline. Carlos Correra has to be on the Jays’ wish list as well despite his reputation. Springer is certainly going to try recruiting him and the need is there if he wants to contend for years as an infielder spot becomes a need with the likely departure of Semien and Carlos is still very young.
Also the Jays have no problems signing Astro players since they never played meaningfulness games during the scandal period hence their willingness to sign Springer and nearly landing Brantley. I don’t see any former Houston player signing with the Dodgers or Yankees (the two teams that got screwed the most by the trash can banging) any time soon
Correa is going to get one of those $200mil + mega deals from some team. Jays can't afford that.
That was a tough way to end a series.1B ump should be fired! I feel so bad for SF on that call.
They can but they won’t
I think Correa's contract is going to be in the top 3 or 4 ever signed. For his age and what he brings, he'll have contenders like CHW, LAD, SFG, NYY calling and he'll have bigger market teams that will start a contending cycle around him like Washington, Philly, Detroit and Texas.

Why can’t Toronto be a bigger market? I know our locale doesn’t help but do you think that is why we will never be considered a big market in the MLB?
